Title: 510 ohm resistor

can i purchase this resistor from radio shack? the 510 resistor was missing from my ED kit from the last coop. i would really like to get it up and running this weekend and waiting on mouser for shipping would set me back.

for future reference, i've been making a habit of trying to pick up large quantities of resistors in popular values to have on hand (usually about 500-1000, each value)

Do you think a 510 ohm is a popular value?  ???

The one I found online at Radio Shack looks to be 10 %, Not sure how critical the resistor is since the Mouser one is 5 %

It MIGHT work but I won't guarantee it.

this pack has common values, and 510 is listed (5 are in the package)

I have extras (I always keep an extra supply of all resistors for the coop).  I will ship one out express to you later today/tonight.  Sorry that this didn't make it into your COOP kit.  I don't have any extra baggies or extra labels, so it is possible it was mixed in with someone else's kit.

You can actually run the ETD fine without even installing that resistor.  It is only used to provide power to the green LED.  Obviously it's better to have a functioning LED, but the ETD will still run fine without the LED lit up.

I know this from experience as I was missing the same resistor from an earlier coop.

Thanks Kurt, but I'm all set.  I picked one up in a subsequent Mouser order.  BTW, that ETD was not from your coop.

I know.  But it doesn't stop the fact that I wear the COOP manager title and will help any fellow managers and members.
