Title: Orders From Ray
Post by: IndianaChristmas on June 24, 2013, 08:14:10 pm: I was going to place a larger order of lights to Ray.
Is it better to get several small orders shipped separately or just get one large order.
I only ask because I was thinking larger (cost) orders may trip some sort of tariff threshold and add extra cost that could exceed shipping.

I have allways got a quote from him and he gives you a link to place your order based on his quote which includes shipping.

I've got them coming via DHL so I'll find out how the import fees go (hoping none - but i'm up in Canada so could be different). I'll post back here if there are any.

Post by: urthegman on June 25, 2013, 12:45:13 pm: I did two separate orders of flexible ribbons and the white varied from one order to the other the first order the white had more of a blue tint to it and the second order had more of a red tint to it, I'm thinking one order would give you more uniformity. IMHO

I ordered $600.00 worth of stuff with ray and I think fedx delivered it with no extras...

This year I went with a quote and it saved me alot. Ray has always been straight forward with me and prompt. The delivery with DHL arrived fast. I was very surprised. Great job on Rays part.

Now comes the fun part. It's like Christmas presants.

Do you put your order together in Aliexpress first and then contact or just list what you want when you intially make contact?

Post by: jnealand on July 04, 2013, 03:30:45 pm: I copied all the part numbers and descriptions of what I wanted and put them in an email with any questions I had and just emailed it to Ray. The very first order I ever did, I used the aliexpress website and it was painful. My credit rejected multiple times untl I called the credit card company. You get the list price shipping and then all the tracking and escrow associated with alliexpress. Now I just email Ray with what I want and he sends me a quote, if I don't like it I just email back on what I don't like and we just trade email msgs until we are both happy.

send him an email and they usually let you know. It took me 3-4 weeks to get my order a month or so ago..

Post by: drlucas on July 11, 2013, 07:02:36 pm: I did. Delivery times were the same for me. Ordered last Thursday morning at 6am and got product Tuesday at 3pm. This is delivery to Canada. The only difference this time was I was hit with duty and taxes. Order was under $150 each time so not sure why this recent order got flagged. Must be random screening. Both deliveries with DHL. I ordered online through Aliexpress.
