Title: Etherdongle COOP **CLOSED FOR ORDERS**

This Coop is for the Lynx EtherDongle.

Please read this post completely before posting in this Coop.

This Coop will have only one option. It will be for a complete kit including PCB, parts, and case.
You will receive all the parts you need to build a complete EtherDongle including the machined case. The Two main chips which are surface mount will be soldered on the PCB for you when you receive it so there is no surface mount for you to deal with.

Note: On Cases They will come with the Etherdongle cutouts done already.  I am also going to check with them about also doing the Conductor cutouts for those who want them also.  As long as it does not affect the final price much

Please keep in mind that this Coop will take longer than others because of the time required to get the PCBs processed and the cases machined.

Kit 1 - Etherdongle with Case that has Etherdongle cutouts.
Kit 2 - Etherdongle with Case that has Etherdongle and Conductor cutouts.

Kit 3 - Case Only with Etherdongle cutouts.
Kit 4 - Case Only with Etherdongle cutouts and Conductor cutouts.

The Coop will be limited to 150 kits.

This Coop will close on July 21st at 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time or when it fills its limit of 150 kits.

Full Payment is expected when the Coop is closed. No orders can be made until all members have paid. All members will receive PMs with details or will be directed by post how to pay once the Coop closes.

Please get your PayPal payments in as soon as you get the Coop invoice PM as no orders can be placed until all payments have been received.

By joining this Coop you also agree that the Coop manager, DLA (as a board to also include all administrators, moderators, and members) shall not be held for any liability.  You are joining this Coop at your own risk.

Here is the pricing breakdown based on the initial quotes. 
Pricing is in US Dollars and includes PayPal and Coop fees.

We have a base goal of 100 kits. This goal allows the cost per unit to drop low enough to make it cost effective to run the coop. Below this number we will not make the order.

EtherDongle Kit With PCB, parts and case.
Per Kit At Qty 100 - $98.79

Case only kits.
Per Kit Under 100 - $6.25
Per Kit At Qty 100 - $5.50

This is an estimate. As always higher numbers reduce pricing and lower numbers increase pricing.

Shipping will be by US Postal Service Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes. All orders will require at least a medium flat rate box since the cases will not fit in a smaller box.

Shipping Charges: for the “Medium” flat rate box with PayPal fees. (In US Dollars)
Domestic: $11.98   
Canada and Mexico: $34.21
All Others: $49.64

If you wish to have insurance on your package it is your responsibility to choose the amount and look up the cost to add. You must add this to your PayPal payment and in the comments explain you paid for insurance and how much. We cannot be held responsible for your package once accepted at the post office and we have a receipt of shipment if it is not insured.

New here and a bit confused, i am sure there is an explanation....   when i go to the wiki for the etherdongle and then click the link to go to mouser, it is showing total price before shipping at $55.59, yet the COOP is more expensive at $98.79.... ???

The mouser parts list does not include the PCB board with the two surface mount chips installed.  If you look in the store the cost on that is $43.  There is also the case and the magicjack that are not purchased from Mouser.

You would click the store button on the red bar above and if the store was out of stock, check the for sale section and if nothings there, you could start a "looking for post"  in the for sale section.

Take a look at the wiki again. Just under the link to Mouser you will find 2 more links. These are the places where you will find the Jack and the case.
If you see other links posted in teh wiki you need to check what they are for because that is where you will find the other parts.

That is the great part about the coops; in this one you do not need to pay for shipping for parts from three different places PLUS you get the boards with the cutouts already in them.

In this co-op I figure that you will save in the neighborhood of $25 plus not have to make the needed cutouts. That is a great deal!

The COOP will also stay open at least one more day.  I have received some PM's asking about ordering just cases.  I have a message in to RJ to make sure it is OK if I add this.  I will also be contacting the case company about getting the drawings done for the conductor cutouts and get a sample ordered for someone to check.

OK this COOP will be extended some for case only orders.  The limit of 150 EtherDongles will still be keep though.  I will add the kits later tonight so do not post any order messages until then.

Update on the cases.  I forgot the drawings yesterday at home so I didn't contact the case company yet.  I will be doing that today.

I talked to the case company and have emailed them the current drawings along with the new cutouts drawing for the conductor case.  I hope to have a sample case coming soon and an idea of what the cases may cost.  I will let you know when I hear back from them.  The new kits will be added later tonight when I get home.

Case only options have been added.  The price listed should be correct for the case with Etherdongle cutouts.  I do not have a quote yet for the case with Etherdongle and Conductor cutouts.  I would imagine it may be a little higher.

I will keep the COOP open until this Sunday at 7PM Central time.  The limit of 150 Complete kits will still be keep though.

Heard back about cases.  The case with conductor cutouts will be 50 cents to 1 dollar more then the regular Etherdongle cutout case.  I have to wait until we actually place an order to get them to make the drawings.  I was trying to save some time and get them made now so it did not delay the order but that is not how they do it.

I will catch up on the posts in this thread tomorrow.

Some parts have started to arrive.  The cases I think are what is going to take the longest.  They have to make the new drawing for the conductor cutouts and then they say a 5 week lead time.

Last Mouser parts order should arrive yet this week so I will start sorting parts this weekend.  Cases I believe we are still looking at around 5 weeks.  I have not heard about the PCB's and parts for them yet.

All parts are in.  I am still waiting on the PCB's and Cases.  The cases will probably be the last item received.  I hope to have everything sorted and ready to go before the cases arrive.  Once they do I will just have to stuff them in the box and get everything shipped.

I might be interested in paying for shipping twice if I could get the kit early and put it in the case later.  Kinda dead in the water without a controller to start learning..

Coops don't really work this way as that doubles the work of the coop manager.  Why are you dead in the water?  The sequencing software doesn't care if you hav a controller or not.  You can still sequence and view it on the visualizer to see how it looks.

Sorry for the lack of updates recently.  Work got in the way.

The last of the cases showed up last week.  I only have a few more parts to sort and bag.  I found out I forgot to order one very important thing.  That is the boxes to ship things in.  Can not believe I forgot them.  They will be here this week.  Shipments will start going out this Saturday and proceed as fast as possible.

Everything, minus a parts shortage, is sorted and I will be spending the day tomorrow packaging boxes to start leaving Monday.  Everything should be shipped by a week from Monday.  The parts shortage is 33 magic jack ethernet connectors that Newark messed up on.  When I received the order I check it and there was a sealed box of 100 and a bag with 26 in it.  The problem is the box of 100 was actually resealed and it only had 67 of the parts in it.  I have the other 33 coming and they will be here Monday or Tuesday.

Here is a packing list to describe what is in each bag.  I did not label the bags but you will see that each bag has an easily identifiable part in it.  Also when sorting the resistors I made sure if there were two different value resistors in a bag there quantities were different and the overall body color of the resistors was also different.

One printed packing list will be included in each box but I know I have missed one in one of the boxes I have packed so far.  That is the reason I am posting this here.

Hi Folks

I took some pictures of the conductor in the new case that Todd did for everyone. I like the nice and tight look. There is some space around the eject button but that is a good thing since you need some wiggle room to get the assembly in place.

One side of the box was torn away.   <md..  I did a quick inventory this morning (before coffee) but will check again tonight.

The next coop for etherdongles will be able to go much faster now that the case drawing for conductor cutouts is now complete.  That is what added around 4 weeks extra time to this COOP.  Waiting for the drawing to be completed and then the lead time to get them made.

It could be straight or angled.  The reason for the angled is if you do get the items to make it into a conductor it has to be angled or you will not be able to program it.  The angled one does make it inconvenient to program it while it is in the case.
