 This Coop is for the PixelNet Zeus Controller (SSCs & Hub).

Please read this post completely before posting in this Coop.

This Coop will have only 2 options. It will be for a complete kit including PCB and parts.
You will receive all the parts you need to build a complete PixelNet Zeus controller.

Kit 1 – 16 String Zeus Controller (Zeus 16)
Kit 2 – 8 String Zeus Controller (Zeus 8)

The Coop will be limited to 400 kits.

This Coop will close on September 15, 2013 at 5:00 PM Pacific Time or when it fills its limit of 400 kits.

Full Payment is expected when the Coop is closed. All members will receive PMs with details or will be directed by post how to pay once the Coop closes.

Please get your PayPal payments in as soon as you get the Coop invoice PM as no orders can be placed until all payments have been received.

By joining this Coop you also agree that the Coop manager, DLA (as a board to also include all administrators, moderators, and members) shall not be held for any liability.  You are joining this Coop at your own risk.

Here is the pricing breakdown based on the initial quotes. 
Pricing is in US Dollars.

We have a base goal of 200 Zeus 16 kits and 50 Zeus 8 kits. This goal allows the cost per unit to drop low enough to make it cost effective to run the coop. Below this number we will not make the order.

Zeus 16 String Kit With PCB and parts
Per Kit At Qty 200 - $55.82

Zeus 8 String Kit With PCB and parts
Per Kit At Qty 50 - $37.38

Pricing does not include Paypal fees or coop fees or shipping.
This is an estimate. As always higher numbers reduce pricing and lower numbers increase pricing.

Shipping will be by US Postal Service Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes. All orders will require at least a medium flat rate box since the PCBs will not fit in a smaller box.
Domestic: $11.98
Canada and Mexico: $40.95
All Others: $59.95

If you wish to have insurance on your package, it is your responsibility to choose the amount and look up the cost to add. You must add this to your PayPal payment and in the comments explain you paid for insurance and how much. We cannot be held responsible for your package once accepted at the post office and we have a receipt of shipment if it is not insured.

I have had a couple of payments from the paypal mobile app and they don't include addresses. I don't know if you have to add your address or if it won't include your address. I have refunded those payments. Please check to make sure that you check Goods as type and make sure that your address is included.

John, I believe that paypal has changed the layout of their screens since the last coop was run, and this may cause problems...don't know for sure.
The "BUY" page now defaults to "personal". In order to choose goods and get the address list, mailing address, etc screens that most of us are used to, you now have to choose the "business" tab.

I suspect that this coop took too long to materialize (through no one's fault).

+1, I'm sweating even being ABLE to have a show this winter, no matter how small.  The list closed up pretty good on payments in the last few days, and a quick peeks makes it look like we are still over 250 units.

I think that I have to agree with Steve on both points.  There were a whole lot of newbies in this coop as well.

+1  Might not get to them this year but I paid for mine.

I hope this comes out the right way...  We hit the base units, so I say we cut the non-payers and get this going.  Since the Zeus is new gear, folks will need ample time to learn how to build and use and time is limited.  There's not even a manual for them yet.  It's not quite like running a last minute COOP for existing gear like the aether II where the build is well documented...

It may make sense to re-open the coop IF the coop closed because all slots had filled.
But everyone had their chance, and the coop ran the whole time period -- so there won't likely be new folks trying to get in.

I have requested new quotes for the PCBs and getting prices from suppliers.
With the number of kits that were ordered, we were able to reach some quantity discounts. With all of the nonpays, we don't reach those quantities. While it is still cheaper to buy 5000 of a part rather than 4600, the price has to be divided by fewer members, so the cost goes up.
I am still optimistic that we can do this coop at the price we quoted.
I will keep you posted. We may open this back up for a day or 2 and see if we can get any more members to buy.

I have calculated everything 5 or 6 times and everything is going to work out okay. The price of the Z16 is up by $.65 each, but I scrounged around my office and shop and found some leftover labels and enough shipping and packing materials to almost offset the increase.
I am going to order the parts today. Hopefully, the lead times on 2 backorders will be less than stated.
I appreciate all the offers to purchase more controllers.

All parts have been ordered. Some parts have arrived. More are due this week. There are a couple of backorders that won't show up until the first part of November.

Update!
We have good news and more good news.
One of the backordered parts that was supposed to ship on 11/8 is now scheduled to ship on 10/31 from Mouser.
The other backordered part that was supposed to ship on 11/1 was shipped today from Digikey.
We still have all the PICs and PCBs on order. I will let you know when I get a delivery date for them.

Sorting will start tonite.

All of the parts that I have received have been sorted. I am supposed to receive the last of the back ordered parts on Wednesday. I am still waiting for the programmed PICs, the PCBs and some fuses.
We are at the mercy of the manufacturers.
If you absolutely need your Zeus controller for this years show, please let me know and I will do everything I can do to get it to you. I can make no promises.

Understood that no promise can be made. I am relying on Zeus for my show this year, and I won't have a show if it doesn't show this year. If you can put me close to the beginning of the deliveries line, you'll make my neighborhood happy ;)

I have active hubs if necessary but no ssc's. if it's not looking like it will make it for this years show, let me know so I can order ssc's. I bought the hubs and then saw the progress of the zues and didn't buy any ssc's. if at all possible to get it for this years show it would awesome! thanks for your hard work at running this coop.

Just remember that the Zeus doesn't have anywhere near the range of the hub and seperate controllers.

Hey Zwiller I didn't put up my pixel tree last year until mid December and only had one sequence using it to start, but I'm glad I did it even though late because it gave me some experience to use for planning this year.  Now if I could just sequence like you do......

Update,
The PCBs, fuses and some PICs have arrived. We are still short about 4000 PICs.
We should be able to ship countrollers to everyone that said they need them for this year. The rest of the controllers will go out in the order that they were paid.
We will start packaging tomorrow night. Hopefully, some units will go out in the next few days.

Most of the hot rush kits have been taken to the post office. I will get the rest out tomorrow.
It looks like the PICS will be the holdup for the rest of the kits. Microchip has changed the ship date again.

The way that I see it...  there were a LOT of people that asked to go to the back of the line after you started the trend.
That puts them BEHIND you, tbone!  everyone, except -- obviously me!  So, I expect to be at the front of the pack after the I-NEED-IT-NOW-crowd.   ;)

Yet another update.
All of the must-have kits have been shipped and I shipped out all of the kits that I could with the number of PICs that I had in the order that they were paid.
The list has been updated.

My wife insists that I move all of the coop stuff out of the dining room by tomorrow so she can decorate for Thanksgiving and get ready for 24 people to show up for Thanksgiving dinner.
 
Unless there is a new ship date from Microchip, the remainder of the PICs are not going to be here for a couple of weeks.
If anything changes, I will let you all know.

The PICs arrived at my office today.
Holy Microchip!! That is a lot of PICs.
When I get home, I will start breaking them down and getting kits put together. If murphy doesn't show up, some kits should start hitting the post office by Wednesday.
I apologize to everyone for the delay. Microchip was supposed to ship these over a month ago.

I got my notification mine shipped!! Does that happen for all the users or just us "special" international users?? I'm pretty excited that likely by next weekend I'll have matrix built, my flex strings delivered and the Zeus built to do some testing with. Yeah!!!! Thanks again for being the first to run this coop. Is this a record for the number of participants in an initial coop?

Not even close.  The initial smart string coop was off the charts.  The initial offering filled up so fast that the coop manager and RJ reopened it and let it run for the full time and the numbers of both kits and members in the coop were just WOW!!

Update!
All packages have been shipped except for 1. The paypal transaction did not include an address and I have not received a reply from the member.
For future knowledge, you must designate "Goods" when you send a payment on paypal or the address won't be sent. Some of the mobile apps make it difficult to find that option and I did not check when I received the payments.
I would like to thank everyone for their patience. Enjoy your new controllers.

Mine is tracking to be here in a few days. It cleared customs up in Vancouver last Friday. Just waiting for a camel to load it and start the trek through the mountains East.

All joking aside I can't wait for the boards to land. Should be a fun build.
