Has any one tested the watts per node on a any of the Ray's RGB led WS2811 12V strings.

Can you use 128 nodes per string with the SSC?

I don't have any of those particular nodes to give you an answer.
wrt 128 nodes... I understand that RJ limited the pixel count based on node type. some strings consumed more power than others, and so (for example) he limited the TM1809 flex strips to 120 pixels, and he limited the smart string nodes to 128.
That limiting is driven by the node selection in the SSC utility.
unfortunately (!?) the same selection drives color order (RGB, BGR, GRB, etc.) so, if you have a new string type that follows the same color order of the flex strips, you'd pick flex in the utility -- and you'd also get the 120 pixel limit with that choice.
I believe that only 120 and 128 have been applied as limits -- it would be one or the other.

I ordered some TM1804 chips strings two weeks ago.
Ray told me he ran out of TM1804 chips. So he wanted to know if I could use WS2811 chips. I need a string that uses 0.3 watts per node. So was hoping some one had tested the WS2811 chip out to see if the chips were 0.3 watts and it could do 128 nodes more or less.

It is not the chip that is using the bulk of the power, it is the LED's connected to it.

I can see that. How do you tell what bulb is being used?

It's not a bulb, it's a set of LED's and the nly way you know is if they tell you.
