I have 2 LOR units using a lor dongle, then I have a cross over cable plugged into my first. Lynx, over to another then to a few 3 channel dmx controllers. I can not get the Lynx controllers to work with LOR , what am I doing wrong.

Lynx only works with DMX. You are using a non DMX dongle. If you had a lynx dongle and the simple cat5 conversion cable in the wiki, it would work. Or if you had the LOR IDMX dongle that would be another choice, but you have to get rid of the LOR USB485 dongle.

LOR speaks dmx with its dongle, I have my LOR units outputting dmx
-
What exactly do you mean by crossover cable?
-
A cat 5 cable that cross the pins to dmx , LOR uses 5 and 6
-
Make sure your "crossover" cable is as follows:
DMX Dongle LOR Signal
WHT/OR (1) BLUE (4)
ORANGE (2) WHT/BLUE (5)
SO the blue wire goes to the orange white spot and the white blue goes to the orange spot. No other wires needed.

I used the first picture on this link for the pin numbers.

I used the last diagram on this page for the pinouts.

It took me a few tries the first time to get the pins in the right order.
I never had any luck with the LOR USB dongle but mine was older. The newer ones are supposed to work.

Have you connected Express direct to the dongle, no LOR controllers in between, test with either LOR software, or xlights? As Jeffl mentions, the LOR usb485 is not known for stellar performance as a dmx dongle.
Also doublecheck your channel config and ensure universe, Express start channel, and LOR channel assignments, are correct.

I got it to work, my cross over cable was wrong. Had pins reversed.

Been there. Done that. Many times.
