Help please I can't remember which side of the led is positive .
Thanks

Greetings,,,
The long leg is typically positive. The short leg, with perhaps a flat spot on the led, negative.

I use this when I get confused:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LED_circuit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LED_circuit)
A Google search for "led polarity" brings up a wealth of info.
One thing to keep in mind is that the picture of the LED insides does not always apply ro all the LEDs out there as I have had issues with some LEDS from Mouser (I cut the leads before inserting and then followed that diagram but had to reverse it to get it to work)
Hope it helps.

Here's a little diagram I made for my friends daughter. I added diylightanimation.com and now it belongs to the entire community!

remember, positive is usually bigger than negative... so the positive lead is bigger (longer) than the negative

I use a watch battery, they are thin and the legs will slip right over them, just watch the voltage when buying the battery.

Yes, a 2032 works great. There's always one on my desk.
But they're expensive :( ... unless you buy them as a tea candle ...
