I am searching for information on use of Lynx Express controllers through LOR iDMX network, if this is even possible. I would plan to use my ShowTime Pro LOR1602W Controller with LOR S2 software then port iDMX out to the Lynx Express.

Hi Keithr
See if the info in the wiki helps

I haven't used the Lynx Express, but I have 5 LOR controllers, 3 SSR4's (DMX option), a Renard SS24 running DMX, and an RPM DMX16DC. All the DMX controllers work well running through the iDMX, and is seen as just a single 512 channel controller in S2, in the way I set it up.
S3 is strongly rumored to control DMX more directly, eliminating the need for an iDMX. Another DMX dongle is required. I don't know if it will have to be LOR labeled or if an Entec compatible such as RJ's or RPM's will work. I'll have to wait for the official release so I can upgrade and test.

Last year I ran 4 LE units alongside my many LOR controllers and all worked well. As long as you feed the iDMX the LOR protocol it will output DMX for the LE units. The hardest part (not really hard) was making an XLR adapter/cat5 to connect the iDMX to the LE units. The wiki has some nice diagrams that helps with this.

An alternative is to use xLights as your scheduler instead of the LOR scheduler. Then you don't need an iDMX, but you do need a DMX dongle (Entec or DLA).

I'm looking forward to testing this solution this year as I finished building a Lynx Dongle. I think we can give it a workout.

xlights worked perfectly for me last year with the LOR dongle and Lynx dongle.
