Title: DMX Tester and DMX Servo Controller COOP [CLOSED for orders]

This coop will have four items to offer

The manuals, boms, etc, may be found in the WIKI (http://diylightanimation.com/wiki/index.php?title=Equipment).

Item 1 - DMX Servo Controller
This project is is described here (http://diylightanimation.com/index.php?topic=4835.0).
The coop includes the PCB and all components. It does NOT include a case or wireless module (it uses a standard Lynx EX/RX module)
In 50-piece quantities, the cost will be $18.70

Item 2 - Bare DMX Servo Controller PCB
This is just the PCB for the servo controller; order it if you want extra spare boards
In 50-piece quantities, the cost will be $2.92

Item 3 - DMX Tester
This project is is described here (http://diylightanimation.com/index.php?topic=4279.0).

The coop includes the PCB, case, and all components. It does NOT include a wireless module or 4 AA batteries (it uses a modified Lynx EX/RX module)
In 50-piece quantities, the cost will be $29.45

Item 4 - Bare DMX tester PCB
This is just the PCB for the DMX tester; order it if you want extra spare boards
In 50-piece quantities, the cost will be $3.11

Pricing includes PayPal 3% and Coop 3% fees. As always higher numbers reduce pricing and lower numbers increase pricing. Change your order as you wish during the ordering portion of the Coop, but please make sure I can tell which kits you are changing and desired numbers. Please check the order list that follows to make sure I don't miss your order or any changes as the Coop continues and at the end of ordering.

The coop will run till December 14th at 8:00 pm E.S.T. or until we hit $5000 so we can get the PCB order in before holiday shutdowns at the board house.

Shipping will be in regular USPS flat rate boxes, at the rate to your location. A single DMX tester and/or quite a few DMX Servo Controllers will fit in a small box ($5 in the US). Multiple DMX testers will have to go in a medium box ($10.50 in the US)

By joining this Coop you also agree that the Coop manager, DLA (as a board to also include all administrators, moderators, and members) shall not be held for any liability. You are joining this Coop at your own risk.

As with any Coop this Coop is subject to the forum rules. These rules can be reviewed using the following link.

Anyone who only ordered servo kits or blank PCBs in the US will have theirs ship tomorrow. DX ones will have to wait until I can make a trip to the post office to fill out the paperwork.

You can check your paypal account to track your shipment to see if it went out already. I think Mike shipped all the DMX servo board only orders first. He was still finishing up on the DMX tester portion of the coop as per his last update. I have both on order he'll get thru them all no worries.

OK, I screwed up (literally...) I forgot to include the screws for the tester that are used to mount the PCB in some of the kits. You can use 4-40 screws, either 3/16" or 1/4" long if you have them, or PM me if you need some sent out. All of the kits sent out starting today have the screws.

Turn the iron all the way up and make a giant solder puddle that touches all of the pins. The switch will literally fall out of the board. Then you just have to clean up the mess...

N1ist - if you have any extra mode switches, please pm me the cost to stick one in an envelope.
If not, I'll just have to start looking at my next mouser order...

After corrupting 4 new Addicts of blinky flashy, I sold one of my LE's to a buddy, who after completing his first soldering job wanted to test it. I pulled out the tester and explained to him how it all works and was able to show the channel and data for the DMX signal. When his parts kit for the dongle arrive, he should be off and running.......

This is a great test tool and proud to say I built it my self....with a lot of help from you guys !!!!! <res.

The case is a challenge but it went together smothly and works great. Perhaps in the future a stick on lable could be developed to cover the imperfections generated during cutting and drilling of the case. It would look really good to have the Lynx name and equipment name on it.

For orders with a tester and 2 or 3 servos, I opened the Serpac case, bagged the loose hardware, and put the tester kit parts bag inside the case. That made it possible to fit everything in the small flat rate box.

Only issue I am having is with an apparent bad PIC chip. I have one on order and once it is here and flashed I will start using it.

Got mine as well. Built my first (non-wireless) and it all works. I did have an issue where the barrel encoder was working intermittently. I looked at it and found that my big beefy fingers must of snapped one of the fine connectors on the encoder when manipulating it to fit in the enclosure. This thing has the tiniest of wires for connectors. Everyone be careful and not do the dumb thing I did! I also had to slightly angle the 6 pin connector for the PIC programmer to fit nicely on the pins -- but this was no big deal really.

I had the same issue. I PM'd mike and verified the check sum was told that the verify would come back as bad, but works anyway.
