This information I gathered from Mike from lightsondisplay back in 2008. He doesn't have too much documentation, but was able to provide me with some pictures on how he created his snowman. I thought I share this since there is now an available servo controller that can do what I planned on doing for the past 3 years. Note: I can't believe I missed the coop <fp.

From the information I got from mike here is what he told me.
"I'm using the Wizard 3 controller from Blue Point Engineering. It's triggered by a on pulse from one of my light controller channels, running off of my Animation Director software. The sync remains correct for the entire show. It's very easy to use and program. Each servo's motion is recorded in multiple passes as you build the characters animation using a potentiometer to adjust the movement. I first record the mouth movement, and then add the rest of the actions while I can see playback of the previously recorded motion."
