I think they are different.  Anyways, here are some photos.  I have seen that the some of the light engines are DMX compatible.

Has anyone utilized side emitting fiber optic cable in their displays?
Has anyone tried to use it for a mega tree?
Any recommendations on where to find the SE fiber cheap?

Thanks.

If someone has an idea, I would like to try it to.  I think it is a great spin on a megatree.

Speaking of cases, I do not have enough for my current order to get the free shipping.  Is there anyone if the Fort Wayne, IN area who would want to go together on some cases?

Throwing out an idea for your Mega Tree.  Has anyone ever tried to make a Mega tree using solid acrylic rod as a light pipe?  For instance, can you place 16 solid acrylic rods around a central pole to create the tree.  At the base of each rod would be a single light.  The light would light the rod up as a waveguide creating a light pipe.  At the top, one could put a different colored light which could be turned on or off to create different effects.  Therefore, you could have two light channels in each rod.  Thoughts?

I also use the RS soldering station.  You can get the tips from Madell.  I read that the machine is actually made by Madell, but do not know if that is true.  I ordered a few tips from them when I first got the station. The tips work great.  They have most of the tips you would need for soldering your boards.  RS doesn't carry the variety that Madell has in stock.  If you go the RS route, get your tips from these guys as it will save you the frustration of dealing with RS on different tips.

Just picked up the $3 coupon today.  Used it on 4 sets of LED lights and one 6 pack of LED candles so saved $15.  Not bad.  They told us that the $3 sale is extended up to Christmas on the lights.

Trying to decide on whether to purchase one of your V2 boards or just build new V4 boards.  Thanks for your help.

I am new to the group.  What is the major difference between the V2 and V4 boards?
