Lynx Express / Which Lynx works with LED strings?
« on: May 25, 2019, 02:13:45 am »
I haven't been on here for several years.  I have 4 Lynx v4 and 2 v5 I haven't really used.  If my memory is right, I remember that one type used AC current and one used DC current.  So only one type worked (well?) with LED strings.
I want to give everything to my daughter, but since you can't buy incandescent anymore, she would need to use LED.
Any help is appreciated.

I have 4 Lynx that have power in/out cords and have been used so they work.  I have two Lynx Express Ver. 5 with input power cord never been used.  Also the Lynx dongle. Dongle gone!
I also have around 24 of blue, red, green and clear Incandescent strings.  Not sure if the shipping is worth more than there cost new tho.  Free if you ship.
I haven't sold stuff with paypal, etc before; but that is what I would use.
Lynx and Express for $50 each .  You pay shipping.

Vixen / Vixen error when starting to play sequence
« on: May 04, 2011, 11:22:30 pm »
All of a sudden when I play a sequence in Vixen 2.5.0.8 I get an error that says:
Method not found: 'Vixen.SortOrder'  I just did a windows update, but don't think anything has changed much.  I tried compatibility mode, administrator mode and nothing makes a difference.
Ideas? >:D
Oh, also, is there a way to migrate profiles and sequences from 2.5.0.8 back to 2.1.1.0?????

Thanks everyone.  I used a drill and cleaned out the risers and adjusted the placement of the PCB.

Lynx Express / PCB screw holes mismatch CG1500??

Should the PCB holes align with those in the CG1500?
I can only get two at opposite corners to line up.
Also, is it recommended to use strain reliefs with the CG1500?
Thanks.

Lynx Express / Dimming - Lynx Express vx. Vixen
« on: December 03, 2010, 12:37:25 pm »
What is the difference using Vixen vs. LE for dimming?  Also, do LED lights work ok with original Lynx and LE?
Thanks.

The Porch / Attach lights to Mega tree
« on: September 29, 2009, 03:15:56 pm »
I have read all the posts so far, but am unclear how you attach the lights to the tree.  Do you just string the light string from the top and down on it's own, or do you need a guy wire for each string?  (I understand how to actually hook it at the top, etc)
Thanks.

Lynx (Old Hardware) / Re: Dongle and Lynx are conspiring against me!
« on: December 05, 2008, 02:01:18 am »
Tuppet,
I had EXACTLY the same issues.  I had 4 Lynx.  I consistently had the same errors you mention when I started up.  I would crash anywhere from a few minutes out to over an hour.  Never knew how long I would run.  I debugged like you did - first dongle worked by itself.  Then added cat5 cable to lynx (which was not powered on) and it ran pretty much forever.  Then I powered up the lynx and it would crash at various times.   Consulted RJ and tested voltages - everything seemed ok.  So on a whim, I attached my one spare Lynx that wasn't used as the first Lynx down the line from the Dongle.  It works almost all the time now.  The only difference is it is attached with a 25 foot cat5 cable.  The other one was a 50 foot cable.  Maybe the 50 footer has something wrong - draws too much current or something.   Anyway, I now have the 25 foot cable and then the 50 foot cable and then 2 more 25 foot cables.  And as mentioned above, it works almost all the time.  Maybe once every three nights it fails, but otherwise runs for 2.5 to 3 hours straight.
Maybe this will help - at least you know you aren't alone!!!
