Lynx Aether / Re: Aether I Light Curves

Greetings,,,

This thread may help you on the error you are getting:

However, it's been a decade since then.  I can't remember when the Aether was ever set up for light curves.  As opposed to using the curves for the different led strings with the LE.  Missed anything with a quick search.  And I slept since then.

Keith,  still turning a light on here and there, even if I don't remember which switch to hit first...lol...

We've seen this before.  It may be the 2700 cap next to the displays.  Check also this post:

Lynx USB DMX Dongle / Re: Can't Get USB Dongle to Work on Windows 10

Greetings,,,

FYI, the test jumper was included in the newer version, with the idea being to add the software to the dongle so that a test output could be used to help determine that the basic output was working.  It would have put out some generic output for some of the channels to work, thus aiding in resolving that certain things were working.

That was never finished.

I believe one is a V4 and one a V5.

(Apologies to the original poster.  But the site has to have a little humor.  And maybe your original question has been answered.)

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login is a link to the various items from here.  The "Function & Use" links tell you more about AC or DC usage.

If you have Expresses, you can use standard AC lights strings that are meant to plug in to wall outlets.  I still see lots of incandescent lights around, but led strings also work.  Though you sometimes have to add a small load in series to pull enough power to work well.  Your mileage may vary.

A few minutes on the wiki should answer some of the questions you may have.

Obviously anything not from this site might be better explored on other sites, but it looks like you have a combo situation.  With fries.

This site has always been here to get lights moving for the enjoyment of all.  No one site has everything, especially as things are always changing.

Someone here may be able to offer help.

Greetings,,,

The test section of the dongle was set up in hardware for a possible future firmware update that never came about.

The dongle was originally for DMX.  It later had an option for pixelnet firmware to be used instead.  One or the other.  Here is the info for DMX:

Greetings,,,

I wouldn't say the LEs aren't worth as much due to power handling.  The stated channel handling capacity and the entire unit capacity differ on the LE, based on checks a moment ago, on the other vendor's site.  So, someone may need to check which is most important to them, before accepting a blanket statement.

Worth is an opinion.  You're on a diy site, remember...
