Thank you for the response.

I will take a look at what you suggested.

The weird thing is these were working for the last 7 plus years for the Christmas shows. 2 years ago they become off season landscape lights and have been running fine but stop communicating to a FPP with PiHat. This is when I put them in manual mode.

I have 6 Aether II's that I'm running in manual mode. 4 of them output white, 1 with a lite purple hue and 1 is more purple than white. What would cause the purpling color effect?

I have 2 Lynx Express Version 5.0 for sale in a CG1500 case with Cords. Only used 2 seasons.
Both have been tested and working. LE with CG1500 I'm asking $90 plus shipping. LE no case asking $80.00 plus shipping.

Did the tree work after programming the Zeus's original? Have you tried reversing the Universe jumpers on the boards?

I had this happen when I had thin gauge wire (LED wire probably 22 gauge) going from the controller to the water proof connectors. Replaced the wire with 18 gauge and haven't had an issue.

You first method to program the channels for the Zeus is correct. The channels are all the same no matter the universe, that is controlled by the jumpers.

The only way this would work is if the dongles can be programmed for different universes. I know there is firmware for the ETD, you can program one for Ch: 1 -16388 and another for 16389-32776 ect ... is there firmware for the Dongle for 4098-8194?

You do have to use the windows installer: here is what I have done:

1st : SS Utility install: setup file from 7-10-2011

2nd then replace .exe file with SS Utility V3 in the C:\Program Files (x86)\DLA\Smart String Utility

Yes I do have the Windows installer.

I downloaded from your link anyways and reinstalled, copy the V3 .EXE from the other link tried to program the the SSCV4. No light and PIC get corrupted.

I can't understand why it works on one PC but not the other when both are running Win7. I also tried programming when both ED and PC is on the network and direct from the PC's NIC to the ED. It always work one the older PC but never on the new one.

Same issue here. I have a older Win7 pc everything works perfect. On the new PC Win7 with the same SSC Utility and SSC V4. Nothing flashes but the PIC's firmware does get corrupted. This is with both "smart string Controller v4-7.hex" and "smart_strings_v4_v2.hex".

It there any prerequisite for the SmartString Utility that may need installed?
