This is great ideas,  but I'm not sure this is the right place (section) for this discussion.

That was a great setup.

About the transition videos.  I would love to have a copy, if you don't mind to share those transitions?

Thanks.

Believe it or not, the video I used for the transitions is relatively simple. It just consists of rectangles filled with a gradient and moved across the screen. Up/Down/Left/Right. For the spirals, I skewed the box at an angle such that it ran from corner to corner. The trick is following it with another box at the right interval so that the transition from one edge of the screen to the other appears seamless. I've created a video with the transition source in the upper right hand corner so that you can see what I used. In a few places the source and the tree are not in perfect sync - that was caused by the way that I had chop up the sequence to make <500 frame transitions and it being almost impossible to set perfect timing with a mouse...

I tried doing resolutions that more closely matched my tree, but in the end I gave in to editing in the DV standard video format - 720x480 at 30Hz. I rendered the sequences out of my video application to 240x160 with the DV rectangular pixels in Microsoft video format. This format worked fairly quickly in LSP while the others I had availble were much slower... I'm not sure what the best format to use is, but the DVIX format into an avi file was not available to me at the time...

Anywhere the tree is moving, but there is no video, was created in the matrix animator or just using the "on" effect and it's ability to support color gradients.

Looks like vimeo needs another 20 minutes - I'll post the videolink tomorrow.

Nice - do you have pix?

I'm planning to do the Mega Tree with Smart String.  Do you have any advise?

Thanks.

Same here,

I'm planning to do Smart String for the Mega Tree. Which mean I have to upgrade LSP to the "pro" version.

Wanted to say thanks to RJ, Jnealand and everyone else on the board here, its fun to have a show up and running.

This year its only 48 channels, but I already have plans to double that for next year simply by adding an arch and a mega tree to the mix....

Oh, what have I gotten myself in to?

Light Show Pro / LSP Shared Sequence
« on: November 24, 2011, 12:31:17 am »
Does anyone have the sequence for "12 day of Christmas" and if you can, please also include the music.

Thank you.

There is a share sequence forum in LSP but it didn't include the flavor of the music for each sequence.  Same time it is hard to find the music that was used on the shared sequence.

Should we start a forum here to share LSP sequence with music? That should help many newbie like many :)

Lynx Aether / Re: AetherII, all white all the time... ideas?

I think there was one label marked on the PCB said "MAN".  I'm guessing its for manual mode?  I hope so, since I would like to use it for flood light after the show.

Thanks -

I'm still trying to figure out why I can't change the start channel number to 201.

Yeah - I too was followed the original instruction, which only required 6 wires  :)

After reading so many posts, I'm confused now.

On the "Aether II Answers for Questions for everyone" thread.  RJ has the following.

Here is the information being asked in many different threads.

1 -

Switches on the Aether II -

Right switch is terminate and moving it to the right turns it on.
Left Switch is Operate/ Program and moving it to the right is program.

So both should be to the left for normal operation

The instructions from "Steve" and Wiki manual indicated that the "Left (w2) switch" moving it to the left (outside edge) is program.

Which ones is correct?

Steve,

Thanks,  I was using the "USB Dongle".  I'm still not sure why I can't program the start channel to 201.

BTW - do I use Pick3 device to program or I should use "USB Dongle" to program the start channel?

Thanks

I just tried that too.  Nothing was changed.

Please help

I followed the instructions above (and Wiki manual) to program the start channel.  I saw the "RED" flashes when I turned the Power ON.  However, nothing was changed, I still get 1,2,3, 4 (white).   How can I change the start channel to 201 ?

Thanks.
