I could also use any SSCs you haven't sold yet.

Light Elf Software utilities / Re: Falcon format
« on: December 10, 2015, 07:05:17 pm »
I understand that, but my question is does light elf do something in the conversion to reverse it? I took the same LSP file and converted it into both formats, and .xseq plays right in Xlights, and .fseq reverses the string. I have all these sequences made and didn't want to redo them from scratch with the newer sequencer in xlights. LSP has been nothing but trouble for me.

Light Elf Software utilities / Falcon format
« on: December 09, 2015, 10:43:16 am »
I added some mini trees to my display this year and want to eventually start using xlights for sequencing, but until I can get my models entered into it, I needed to redo my trees in LSP. After I did, and was using Light Elf to convert, I noticed you could convert to the .fseq format now. Everything seemed fine until I noticed some of the trees were off by a few pixels. Thought maybe I had counted wrong, but eventually figured out the string was running in reverse. Went back and reconverted to the .xseq format and everything was perfect. Does the Falcon player use a reversed string format? I plan on setting that up a Pi next, which was why I tried the format and thought xlights could play it.

Ok, had a friend come over and we did the v3 conversion and that seemed to fix it. Still working on 1 last one that we decided the cat5 pigtail was a little too much corroded and wasn't getting sufficient power. It is either that or we need to change out the resistor. Thanks for the suggestions.

I may have to just forget these nodes for now, I thought I had some V4s, but I can only find 2 of them, and they were both in my box of controllers that I couldn't get to program.

And I did check continuity with the pigtail and every wire was where it should be and continuous.

computer -> usb dongle -> active hub -> SSC v1 -> nodes.  I have a few V4s but need to get some more if I can not miss the next coop like I did this year.

They work with the pixels I bought and used in 2014 show. I wanted to expand my trees and ordered the same ones.

I hooked them up to You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login using the colors I listed above and it worked perfectly. So I am at a total loss as to what needs fixed.

The ones I ordered are supposed to be the TM1804IC.

This one. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

They look exactly like the ones I have and I am wiring them the exact same way. The pigtails are ones I got before and have used them, so I guess it is possible I picked out 2 duds, but doesn't seem likely.

Lynx Smart String / troubleshooting help for pixel nodes

I got a new shipment of nodes this year and I am trying to wire them up and they are not wanting to light at all. I've tried 2 strings and think I am doing it the same as the ones I got last year.  These are the ones linked to in the wiki. The pigtails I have are the newer ones with the yellow/green, blue and brown wiring. I have wired the red to the yellow/green, the blue to the brown and the green to the blue. I've tried looking at the node, but just see markings for 12v and gnd, but doesn't say data that I can see. I am inputting on the side with the big chip. Anyone know if something has changed with these nodes? I did see some threads about a higher power usage in the newer ones, so tried cutting the strand to just 21, which is what I will be using for the trees I am putting them on, but they still didn't work.

Light Show Pro / No output on version 2.8.
« on: September 24, 2014, 11:29:11 am »
Ever since I upgraded to version 2.8 last year I cannot get it to output to my pixelnet dongles. Everything is setup exactly how it was with 2.5 but the test hardware won't work and sequences won't work. It works fine if I use the converter someone posted here to convert the sequences to xlights. Anyone have any clue where to start looking for the problem? It really is a problem to try and sequence when I want to do something a little more complicated than just on/off, and thought maybe someone had an idea.

Thanks for all the help. I finally got a working string of them to light up correctly. I did not have to change the programming from the flex strips so I won't have to reprogram from between Halloween and Christmas, just move the SSC.

I have been using the flexible strips for 3 years and haven't had any trouble with them, other than water getting into the cat5 connection. Decided to get some Rectangles to light up these pumpkins but they have stumped me.
