People please evacuate if you are in the path of this hurricane

I hope RJ, Keith and Bill are safe.

Thoughts and prayers to the people who already have been affected by Irma in the Caribbeans.

Lynx EtherDongle / Re: Vixen 2.5 EtherDongle plugin

Sorry I don't believe RJ ever created a plugin for 2.5

You could use the 2.1 plugin and maybe covert it to 2.5 but I have my doubts.

The Porch / Re: RRowan's Color Picker...
« on: October 26, 2015, 06:08:15 pm »
Hey Guys,

Sorry for the delay. There is really no reason to recompile the code. If you go to the Colorfinder, Colorfinder, Publish folder. You will see the needed stuff. The zip files are older versions of the program. If you grab everything but the zip files you will be able to run the setup.exe file (Folder - Application Files, File - Colorfinder.application, File - setup.exe)

Hope that makes sense

Thanks Duane,

I also hope your show funs flawless. It feels like every year the "off" season gets shorter. I have ideas of what I want to change but who knows if it will happen. The wife also wants less stuff in the yard since I am having health issues that is getting in the way.

The Porch / Re: Halloween show
« on: September 29, 2015, 07:44:48 pm »
Hi Chris,

So far my Halloween show is very basic. I purchased a Disney Haunted Mansion CD so I use some of those songs along with the Monster Mash, the Addams Family theme music. No sync with the lights. This year I am hoping to start doing some Peppers Ghost images/videos. I found some free videos online that I might use. One has the ghost slimmer from Ghost Busters that is been shot at by the Ghost Busters weapon. We had great weather last year and there was at times girls out front singing with the songs. I did have my windows RGB frames going from Orange and Purple and I used Blue LEDs lights over the front door to give off some better theming than the normal light bulb. The lights were on for about a week before the 31st and the sound just played that night.

Finished COOPS / Re: PixelNet Zeus Controller COOP ***Shipped 9/8/2015.***

Hey Mike,

I got my Zeus today. Many thanks for all of the hard work and working through the problems I had. The box got beat up pretty bad but everything looks good. The pcb looks to be fine and the zip lock bag seems to done its job of keeping all of the parts together.

Thanks again

The Porch / Sharing my Visual Basic Code
« on: August 26, 2015, 10:35:37 am »
Hi Folks,

If anyone is interested in my programming code (usb, ethernet, dmx, pixelnet). I have decided to share what I have, since I haven't worked on developing it for a while now. The code is as is and free to use/modify. There might be some comments in the code but its mostly my Spaghetti code. I am just a hobbyist programmer so it may or may not be helpful.

The Porch / Re: Wonky wiki ...
« on: July 25, 2015, 05:53:36 pm »
Yeah I see it also.

according to mediawiki a file must of been updated on the server that dla is on and the wiki has to be either restarted or an update has to be done to fix the problem. I have already posted the problem to the mods forum so RJ can see it.
Sorry about the problem. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Thanks

How did you get it to straight down with controlled speed?  ;D

Hi Tom,

Solid brass track keeps the train mostly straight  ;). Its using a old transformer (from my son's Lionel G scale Thomas the Tank engine set ~1992) with a speed dial. Then there is a small controller that reverses the train call mini-motorman. See the picture, sadly you can't buy that unit anymore. I knew the guy who designed and sold them. I think he was getting tired of the business and when the Australia battery mafia (not a real mafia just what everyone call them) started to harass him he shut down the business. Sad since he made some awesome stuff.

Hard to tell, but that looks pretty big ... 1:48 scale? 1:32? 1:29?

\dmc
Aristocraft center cab switcher (fake engine) two short noses and a cab from the RS-3. 1:29 scale

The Porch / Needed a little bit of fun at work
« on: July 13, 2015, 12:50:54 pm »
Hi Folks,

Since all of the bosses are out this week at a conference. I figured it would fun and safe to bring in my smallest engine and gondola car. I have a point to point controller which needs a diode at each end to stop the engine along with letting the controller know the train has stopped. The controller has a built in timer that runs and then sends the train in the opposite direction until it crosses a diode at the other end and then continues the process. Normally the track I use the controller on is connected to a track about 62 feet long. This track is a total of 6 feet and 5 inches.
