A less than perfect data connection could be an issue as well

I've had similar issues with poor data connections between ssc and smart strings

Intermittent odd behavior all fixed when made a better connection

I had similar problem
Not sure what the cause was

I also had to reset the first express after the hub that dmx was feeding

Before resetting the express other dmx devices later in the chain were functioning properly

So not sure if the problem originated with the hub or express, but possibly related to your issue described

Would like to see the ability in xlights to choose an overlap as one sequence ends and the next begins ... As in music with the cross fade as you mix songs

In some of my sequences I did not clip the long dead space or long fade out of the audio file and there is several seconds between activity on ending song and beginning song

I know I could go fix all my sequences to eliminate this, but sure would be easier if one of these programming geniuses included a checkbox or slider bar to choose to have some overlap between sequences in the scheduler

I cannot thank the xlights and nutcracker inventors and contributors enough
These tools are absolutely awesome, especially considering you are sharing it for no charge

Are you sending dmx?
Did you ask ray to set start address or is it default?
If default, probably channel 1,2,3
I would try to turn in all channels to start with and see if it responds at all then try to narrow it down

Setting start channel in these controllers may require a special programmer
How are you attempting to set the start address?

Just curious ... Why do you need to program the start address if you don't have a dongle

How will you be sending it DMX data?
