Lynx Smart String / Re: Smart string into dumb string
« on: August 15, 2014, 08:51:06 pm »
Thank you everyone! I see the need to not have multiple versions of firmware out there, for exactly as described.

That being said, I think if there was an ability to run a very simple "show" right from the SSC, that would be great. Like a solid color, or a "multi color"- like Incan sets. Think along the lines of the Incan strands with the box that allows simple chases etc...

I thank everyone for the help here!!

Is there a way to program the SSC (v3) to a set color? I need to set a string to all white, and another to all hot pink. I'd like to be able to just power the string, and it come on at the predefined color. I'm helping my cousin with her wedding and don't want to drag along my ETD and computer just to do this for one day.

Can you do a local install of Nutcracker on Mac? I have a mac mini running OSX server in my home, so this would be a great use for it as well, if it can be done.

I have a Martin maxxyz which is capable of 64 universes of dmx and I use smpte to sync the show to music once the cues are created, I play the music with smpte back and just hit go when I want each cue to happen

I own a pro lighting console that outputs artnet, and i can program on that much easier and faster than with vixen or the like. I am using pro equipment, but not for pro use, it's just what I know. At this time, my console doesn't support e1.31...it is in the plans, but of for a while, so artnet support would really be of benefit to me, that or if anyone knows of an interface box or software to convert artnet input to e1.31 output, that would also work.

My dongles are set at com 11 and 28. Windows does see them when they are plugged in and if I use the Dom port assignment program Rick made, they show up. Serial emulater is selected and other options are not. Baud rate is 11500 and everything matches the screen shots in the wiki. This one has me stumped!

I think the problem is somewhere in windows, I am going to try and find another PC to try it on. We changed to Mac a few years ago and I was using my old laptop for this. I am very confident that the solder and physical assembly of the dongle is good, but it may come to sending it off. I'm in the Cleveland Ohio area.
