Lynx USB DMX Dongle / USB Dongle with PixelNet Firmare question
« on: November 03, 2017, 04:53:43 pm »
I have a USB DMX Dongle that I have been running for years connected to a Falcon Pi Player to 6 Lynx Express v5 units running fine - I have a second USB Dongle I built and flashed it with PixelNet firmware just in case ... now the Just in case has come up and I still want to use my 6 LE DMX but want to add the Holiday Coro "CCR" Pixel MegaTree Kit - 16 Strips/Ribbons / 800 Pixels / 2,400 DMX Channels / Ready2Run Assembled - with AlphaPix 16 Controller.

The USB DMX Dongle only does 512 channels - so I assume that if I use the UBB PixelNet Dongle connected from the FPP I can add this and it will still run the DMX boxes and the Holiday Coro tree together?

Is this right or do I need something else?

Lynx MR16 / 16 CH DC Controller / Getting the MR16 going....
« on: December 16, 2015, 09:22:16 pm »
I have setup and got the MR16 I got years ago installed in a box and running - I just used the Lynx Address utility to set it to start at channel 65 it all looked ok - is there a way to check this - before I run all the led floods and it not be right and have to TS outdoors?? Is there a software to check the Dax start address?

Thanks

Thanks! If a actual led bulb is bad will that cause it to go out too even though the base is good and still connected? On incandescent bulb string the bulb could get broken but if the base and the 2 wires still connected the rest of the string worked ok....

The Porch / LED light string problem/question
« on: November 26, 2015, 02:42:28 am »
I have a frustrating deal here - I have strings of the Holiday Time C9 LED red lights and a separate channel for Green an also white - 3 channels per level - 9 total - each string is about 60 ft  100 count.

When I was prepping the red sting for my top roof section only half worked - right at the middle. Checked each build and made sure the bases were seated correctly - no go - so I went and just bought a new string even though all there are just a year old - problem solved....

I checked the next 2 sets and all worked good - until they are hung on the top roof eves ...!

So trying to check this string and not having luck - I noticed that right where the lights go out there is a plastic cylinder that a wire goes it and seemingly might be a resistor? Or fuse?

Any ideal on how to fix in place without having to get these down, or just adding a new string up there in addition?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,

Jason

Lynx MR16 / 16 CH DC Controller / Will this Power Supply be OK on the MR16
« on: September 16, 2015, 02:02:57 pm »
So I have revived the use of the MR16 but have a Power Supply that I want to use but not sure it will work with it.

It is a:
SWITCHING POWER SUPPLY - 150 W - 12 VDC

Vixen / Re: Vixen Channel Mapper or Vixen Profile Transfomer

I can't not find a download link for this - but other than a copy paste - is there a way in Vixen to change the channels in the sequence to fit my setup and layout ?

Vixen / Vixen Channel Mapper or Vixen Profile Transfomer

This was mentioned in the Forum Header messages as a tool to have. I can not find where to download it. I have a few sequences I have downloaded and need to be able to change the channels in them to my layout - I assume this is the program that will help me out in this... ? I hope....

Thanks

The Porch / Re: Wireframe Animated items
« on: December 12, 2014, 06:45:30 pm »
Thanks Jim,

I had Googled them and found a bunch of premade ones that are very expensive, Was hoping to find templates and some plans on how to make them at home - mostly what controls clicking off one set of lights and turning on the other to create and animation effect.

I just fould a Planet Christmas vendor page at:

Im going to go through that tonight, but if anyone knows a controller for 2 + controls for the animation steps please let me know.

Thanks,

Jason

Was looking to add some standalone wireframe animated items to the display along with all the controller sequences - but was wondering were to go look for them or if there were plans/templates anywhere, and what kind of controller or relays used to make the static animations. using either standard lights or sections of LED rope lights...

Thanks,

Jason

I'm still very new - even after a few years and still just have Express units and regular lights - but what kind of lights are being used in this video - mostly of the flat part of the roof - displaying scrolling text and some videos and pictures....
