Yes I agree

It would be great is we can have a lot more Single String Manipulation, I know Sean had complex strings to meet his needs this year but if the developed "Portfolio" approach (i.e. multi strings/projects merged together) we can get back to the real benefit of SS, i.e. true arch simulation/ping pong/binary counting/abacus simulation etc.

Great work in 2012 can't wait for 2013 developments

Would it be possible to create an arch effect that would allow you to create an arch that chases (bounces) back and forth during a preset time (beat) interval

Further would it be possible to create a chasing arch effect that would move a number of pixels from one end of a row of arches to the other end over a set period of time such as across 1 to X number of beats.

Some of my arch manual effects are such as bouncing each arch back and forth to the beat, chasing a segment across X number of arches and back, etc.

I can provide videos of examples if you like.

Thanks,

Getting started with Light Animation / PCB Sourcing
« on: February 22, 2012, 05:40:11 pm »
As a Newbe from the UK I'm currently going up a very fast learning curve

I've started to get involved in CooP's both here but things get very expensive with postage and in some cases 110 to 240 Volt conversion

For us across the "pond" (UK & Europe) a real alternative would be to either buy pcb's in bulk for onward selling, or better still, get access to the board files inc. Gerber's where available, to get them produced over here. Possibly this would include setting up BOM's on Uk Mouser or Farnell (Element 14).

My specific question - Are any of the standard boards detailed on this site/Wiki, in practice, open source? If not who owns the licence and how wold we go about appropriate recompense.

Let me be clear, I have no intention of this being a commercial initiative, I only want to try to ease some of the frustration that I (and a guess many others outside the USA) experience.

Any suggestions and advice would be greatly received

Mike

Hi

I have used an Ebay shop called EACHDESK for a number of items. Service very good, only a delay once on Servo Cables and they PM straight away to advise slow delivery

Sean

Excellent work and its spurring me on to build a mega tree sooner than planned.

One option that I'd love to see is "fractals" - snowflake algorithms implemented, random and colour changing
Dont know how practical - keep up the great progress
