Thank you Jeff. Now that you mention it, the Freestyle at the old house was inside and powered off the same power strip as the splitter. This year to keep The amount of cables running inside down I placed it in an enclosure outside.

Thanks again.

You can send it to me if you'd like. I have a Pickit-2. Just let me know.

Same setup as I had at my last house. Not sure why I haven't made the switch to wireless SSR4's yet but can only guess not enough time in a day.  <fp.

Actually now that I think of it I think the cable going to the Freestyle this year is probably Cat6. Wonder if that makes a difference? Anyway, when done for the evening when I shutdown things I noticed that when I turn off the power strip which supplies the FM transmitter, DMX transmitter, splitter, a seperate power supply, Every light on every channel comes on simultaniously and remains on until I open the power breaker for the show.

Did not happen at the old house but now that I think of it the data cable is different.

Thanks all.

Leon

I saw this last night and thought of this problem. I work in the medical field and see this a lot.

The thread where I found it is here:

Looks like the basic parts of the circuit are working going by what you described in test mode. It seems you only have an unresponsive controller brain so to speak. Have you tried re-flashing the PIC?

I started in 2011. 100% LE's and a dongle. Still 100% LE's and a dongle. I haven't made the jump to RGB and I still get plenty of visitors and thank you notes. People just love to watch the lights dance.  :)

Started in 2007 and found DLA later through a friend. Thank you Bill. I'm in the same boat as UncleBuck. Just like the old stuff and will probably just run that until the last one dies.  ;D (Mostly V3 LE's with and Old version of Vixen)

I've always been resistant to the LEDs although I must admit. I've seen some now that look pretty close to the incans. Exciting.

Thanks to all of DLA for the support and light throughout the years. As long as I can run em, I will!   <res.

Thanks RJ.  Hope to meet you some day.

Great story Duane. Isn't it funny how these things happen and usually you never see them coming. :-) Instantly makes it all worth it though.

This one has great reviews and you can have it one day shipped. If it doesn't come with a supply, I got one like this one from China and found a supply at Radio shack.

Looks like it comes with everything including the audio cable.

Could n't find a manual for this one but here's one for a similar unit and works with mine.

Lynx Express / Re: Buying a Lynx Express controller

Like you said (don't hate me).

Don,

What you're asking for is a moving tartget. If you've been on this forum for long than perhaps you know that most of us buy our Lynx Express from group buys. Those costs are based upon the price of the parts AT THAT TIME. There's a lot that goes into it.

Now, if you buy it from someone here on the forum, generally speaking most will sell it to you for what they paid for it and some will discount the price based on use and or how badly (quickly) they need to sell.

That said, You can build a Lynx Express for approximately under a hunred dollars. If you buy it from someone already built and depending if it's in a case with cords the price can be as much as $30-$50 dollars more depending on the materials they used to complete it.

Hope that helps.

(Sorry,.. should've read all before commenting and noticed you're new here) I hope it helped anyway and Welcome Don!    :)

Darn phone. Should say RGB LEDs

bking85295 - If you're just wanting to run your show through a program/ scheduler and your not particularly concerned with the adjustable preview than you could turn off (uncheck) the previewer in your profile configuration and then see if your show will run.

I hope since we haven't seen you lately that you've got your issue resolved.

The defense is willing to concede that all 23 witnesses will testify substantially as Corporal Hammaker did, if the Government is willing to concede that none of them were in Dawson and Downey's room at 16:20 on September 6th. I mean,... if you're willing to admit that for some reason or another you've had an axe to grind where Vixen is concerned,  I'm willing to admit that a I personally do not think R&B LEE'S are Christmasy...... Not even a little.  Sorry.  <fp.

That is true if you're running a "BIG" (size) picture. However, if you resize, say like with microsoft paint, you can have it up without issues. Mine runs all the time. It's how i can tell where I'm at in the show without going outside. That said, when I'm not monitoring the show I do turn the monitor off.  :)

But you're right, if the pic is huge (which is easy to do these days with all the umteen megapixel cameras) you can really bring things to a crawl with the computer trying to use it for preview.
