Lynx Express / Re: IIRC chip replacement?
« on: November 04, 2013, 03:34:04 pm »
Lets say that I loose a chip because of ESD shock.  Do I really need it.  Does it only control the display?  If this was the case.  I could always use a chip from another express if I needed to view the display.

Lynx Express / IIRC chip replacement?
« on: November 04, 2013, 12:22:11 pm »
I read in an earlier post the the IIRC chip the controls the express is not longer available.  Is this correct?  How often does this chip fail if ever.  Has anyone found a supplier that still has them available.  What will be the future of the express?

I got it.  My pictures helped me out.  The voltage regulators were in the correct spot.  But backwards according to the silk screen  <fp..  Like my super smart engineer mentor always say's it's obvious to the casual observer.

I measured voltage across the LED's 5V is 2.1 V and 3.3V has no power.  I took a few images of the board in case someone can see anything.  I took the heat sinks off the regulators to verify they were correct.

No LED is installed correctly per silk screen on board.  I haven't went any further with installing chips and pics.  I saw a mod for 2009 time frame that ran a jumper wire from the 5V to the 3.3V regulator.  Is this still an issue?

I am having issues with a 3.3 volt led not lighting on my express.  I checked all components to make sure they are right.  Any suggestions.

I am in the market for a working USB dongle.  I have not had a lot of time to work out issues on my etherdongle and would like to get a little show for Halloween going.  Please no kits at this point.

my issue now is where are the operating systems located?  I go to load a OS and the directory is my desk top.  Do i need to download one or are they located in a program file?  Thank everyone again for all your help.  I'm sure we will be able to solve the issue together.
