Lynx Smart String / Re: SSC and LOR
« on: December 02, 2014, 08:04:13 pm »
Thanks all I kinda went in a different direction, I didn't want to buy new pixels, the ones I have has been on my roof for four years straight year around. I couldn't figure out to use LOR S3 software to control the pixels with RJs SSCs so I bought a tiny pix controller from holidaycoro and tried it with my pixels, low and behold works great. So I know not DIY but sure was easy and I like LOR S3 software. I have some of the first pixels from Ray, even though the outer tip has yellowed/darkened they look as good lit as the few I've had to replace. They are under the eaves so kinda of protected from the weather.

Again thanks

I guess I'm not understanding, I do have a hub. What I need to know is can LOR S3 output yo a Lynx usb dongle flashed with Pixelnet? I want to run S3 software to control my roof line which has 200 pixels controlled by the SSC controllers via a hub via a Lynx usb dongle. And then also control the pixlite controller via E.131

Thanks
Rick

Is it possible to use a USB dongle flashed with Pixelnet with LOR? I want to control about 200 pixels along my roof line. At the same time I will be using E.131 to pixlite controller to control 12 WS2811 flex strips bought as a package from holidaycoro. I don't want to have to replace the pixels that are along my roof line (they have been up for three years)
Thanks
Rick

I've had nodes out year round for 3 years now (one of the first to get nodes from Ray) these are the orginal ones (no waterproofing) they are under the eve of my house (so no direct rain). I had to replace two nodes for Halloween this year (out of ~300). when looking at them upclose (not lit) you can see the plastic cover has yellowed some, but when lit them I can't tell the difference between the replaced nodes and the old nodes (replaced with nodes from the orginal order). I live in Delaware.

Lynx Express / Re: Repairs

Also when replacing the triac's I find it easier to cut it off first with a small pair of wire cutters then heat up each leg one at a time and either push it out or small pliers and pull it out.

Bobcat DMX Servo Controller / Can't program Pic?
« on: March 31, 2012, 04:03:21 pm »
Hey everyone, I built my Bobcat servo controller but can't program the PIC, I thought maybe got a bad PIC but ordered two more PICs and still can't get them programed. I'm using a PICkit 2. I even tried to program them with the J1sys board with jumpers set to L and still says no device found. When I first start the software if finds the PICKit 2 but won't find the PIC18F23K20 to be able to program it. Any help would be appricated.
I have been able to program PICs for LE's, wireless etc. Just can't get this PIC programed. Must be doing something wrong. Please help
Thanks,
Rick
