Tracked down the problem. It's nothing to do with the Lynx Itself.

Problem was the Android App for sending out e1.31 and DMX test signals. It causes all other DMX channels in the DMX universe to come on at 30% and ramp down with the original channel.

Tested with da_e1.31 from You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Works perfectly with above and also with sequence from vixen3.

OK, ready for weird.

When I turn on a output - no problems at all, and output ramps up to full on no worries.

When I ramp down an output from full on to off, at about 30% all other outputs come on at 30% and ramp down with it.

Turn on another output and ramp up as normal, ramp it back down and all outputs follow @ 30% again.

Anyone ever seen this behaviour before?

Rowan

Lynx Express / Built and tested. Bring on xmas.

All finished building.
All finished testing.

Big thanks to Kurt for running the coop.

Rope lights attached to santa, sleigh, and reindeer.

Now to finish up my pixel canes and start some sequencing.

Thanks for the clarifacation RJ,

Good to know these things before you let the magic smoke out of something.

Quick note for anyone building these to run 240V.

The PCB has changed slightly and the 330ohm resistors are no longer required to swap out 16 of the 180ohm resistors. Instead now you need 16x 100KOhm 1/2W resistors to replace the 16x 47KOhm ones. Not a problem, but something that could trip you up.

Thanks Kurt,

Just got mine down under in Australia. Good news, all the heatsin parts are accounted for. Will check everything else soon when I get a chance.

Can't thanks you enough, and can't wait to add my rope lights to the sequenced fun and games.

Cheers,
Rowan

Sweet,

Assuming that includes insurance, but if not i'll live.

Transfer the money when I get to work. $120.60 + $59.95 = $180.55 in US I guess  ;)

Thanks for organising this Kurt,

Rowan

Nearly sent payment based on the US shipping in my sleepy stupor (thought I had a new message when really just reading the same one).  <fp. That would have been a mess to adjust.

More coffe for me!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Kurt.

Actually getting it shipped to friend in ohio so domestic only.

Myself I'm from Australia. (Now to hope I can get some other items to ship to them before they travel in May)

One for me please. (If you have some resistors to suit 240V, saves me having to track them down, if not all good)

Lynx SSR4 / Re: Do we have instructions for 240V yet?

rm357 - apologies - totally forgot I posted in the express section and tacked on the question about the SSR4 in there. Will send RJ a PM and see what we can get going. Cheers,

As to the transformer, any info would still be great.

Good to hear that the firmware has been finished.

Now if someone needed a copy of it where would I look??

Looked through the equipment wiki and it only has the standard firmware. Looked through all the recent threads and lots of people asking about it but no links to it.

Any part no. for 240V transformers that are compatable with the footprint on the PBC, or do I just grab whatever and solder some jumpers?

Sorry, should be more specific with my questions.

Do we have instructions for what needs to be modified for these to work on 240V with DMX, Transformer and resistors is obvious, anything else that i'm missing?

Cool thanks,

Ok so the express is good to go, now to find out about the SSR4.
