Bought these earlier this year; new, fully assembled with pigtails.  My health is not going to allow me to pursue a lightshow, so I'm going to pass them on to someone who can use them.   $175 for both, I'll ship free to lower 48.  I also have a brand-new optoma gt760? short-throw projector FS if anyone is interested in incorporating projection in their show...$550 firm plus shipping, includes custom outdoor mount and 50' redmere hdmi cable

Please remember as agreed all support for the commerical product will be done off of DLA and by Minleon.

RJ

I wish I had read this BEFORE I purchased 2 of these last week!  I'm a green rookie to all of this, partially-disabled with early Parkinson's and can't solder anymore.  This looked like such a sweet solution.  I assume (like all other controllers) these have to be programmed and configured?  Minleon does not post these files anywhere.  I ordered last week; never got a confirmation of purchase, never got shipping verification (till a guy named Ron finally emailed me back from his cell phone) and NEVER got a tracking#...it did show up Friday, glad I happened to be home to receive it.

The 2 boards had pigtails attached, but the polarity is backwards on some of them (never got an answer back if I should be concerned with this).  They were rolled up in plain used bubble wrap, no anti-static bag or box.  The heatsinks have grooves and scratches all over them, like they were test units or something.  Oh, and I read somewhere that shipping price was ridiculous ($40.00+) because they come from China...they came from PA, and shipping to Al. should have been around 12 bucks.  I order stuff from China all the time.

My new buddy (whom I have not met yet)) jnealand has invited me over too his house when I visit my daughter in Ga in a couple weeks.  I'm going to impose on his experience (if he will) to assess the condition of these boards...I worry that the cold weather and poor packing may have zapped something.  Sorry to vent, I'm just floored that a so-called "commercial" product has this lack of professionalism and support.  Hope I can get support here if needed

What would perhaps be neat would be the ability to launch a detached (separate window) "enhanced" GUI editor for the nutcracker grid, which could be docked on a different monitor and would eventually have enhanced editing capabilities.

+1

I have been running dual 27" for years; so nice to have that much real estate ; detachable windowed GUI would be awesome

Typically in an LE Coop, you can pick the board and BOM up for around $70 at most.  Case is around $15, plus the cost of shipping plus the cost of the cords to attach to the LE.  The shipping and cords negate themselves since Minleon would charge for shipping and you still provide your own cords.  So DIY = ~$85 vx. Minleon at $159.  Course, you also have the fun of soldering and possibly  making mistakes with the DIY route, but that's half the fun of this hobby for me!  Hope that helps!

Duane

Thanks, it does.  Because of the tremors in my right hand/arm, I am now 99% left-handed, so not too sure about solderiing critical components...sure wish I could!

I suffer from early stages of Parkinsons, with a significant tremor in my natural right hand, so this might be a blessing for me; however, I have to watch my pennies.  Counting board, shipping, case, wires, plugs, etc. needed to build my own LE, how much am I really going to save over the $159 Minleon complete box if I choose the DIY route?
