Hi,

5W resisors are big and you'll need 3 in each strobe. How do you plan on placing these in your design?

Have you considered using 2 or 3 RGB LEDS in series to lower the voltage across the resistors?

Hi,

Through the years I've found out that using the DMX2 output on the Lynx Express causes unit 'freezing' issues when power cycling.

I try to avoid using this on-board splitter as much as possible.

I'm in need of an Active HUB as the DMX firmware for the Conductor has not been released yet. If you have one that will not use either assembled or as a kit, please let me know.

I can also trade for an Active Hub for a Passive HUB + (1) DSC controller and (1) 5m dumb RGB strip i bought from Ray which comes inside a silicon tubing.

This is the list of changes from v1 to v5 of Lynx Express unit. (v5 is the latest Express board version).

I would consider just building your 16 units as they are functionally the same as a v5. Otherwise you'll have to check what components were added/deleted/changed from v2 to v5 and order more parts accordingly.

Hi,

Don't give up. It is fairly easy to accomplish your desire effect.

In Nutcracker, first create a 'single strand' element (model) with 8 pixels.
Then using this element, create an effect using the 'fire' class effect.

From the pictures, they look to be strips with 'silicone coating' and not the 'silicone tubing' other strips have including the smartstring flex listed in the wiki.
