Just had a chance to see your Papagayo video, Had a thought on the 3rd output method

How about using a custom model where each phoneme has a list of output channels it will use?
AI= CHANNELS 1,3
E= CHANNELS 1,3
ETC= CHANNELS 1,2
FV= CHANNELS 1,2
L= CHANNELS 1,4
MBP= CHANNELS 1,4
O= CHANNELS 5
rest= CHANNELS 2
U= CHANNELS 5
WQ= CHANNELS 5

This way each phoneme can be customized for the face, I think this is the way the "papagayo to lor" works.

Its about time papagayo gets a revisit, Looking forward to the improvements.
Thanks

How about a couple of these

You don't have to climb the tree to light it, these will project the lights on the tree.

Lynx Wireless DMX / Re: How to sync the whole block???
« on: January 04, 2014, 12:01:05 pm »
Try working things backwards. There is 512 channels in dmx, 46 houses, so each house can have 11 channels each. Maybe add a spot light or 2.

So lets say you use 3 colors for the flame, and 3 for the candle, that is 6 for each house. The lynx express is my thought. 110 volt light strings, plenty of channels for future expansion, easy to use. You can use a ssr4 or mr16.

Each house has 1 lynx express equipped with wireless and only 6 cords for the lights. The express start address set for each candle in sequence.

Starting at the house with the show computer, the wireless transmitter set for channel 1, the candles within range is set to receive channel 1.

When the wireless channel 1 drops out, add a transmitter set to channel 2 to the dmx out of an in range channel 1 express to extend the wireless.

When the wireless channel 2 drops out, add a transmitter set to channel 3 to the dmx out of an in range channel 2 express to extend the wireless.

When the wireless channel 3 drops out, add a transmitter set to channel 1 to the dmx out of an in range channel 3 express to extend the wireless.

When the wireless channel 1 drops out, add a transmitter set to channel 2 to the dmx out of an in range channel 1 express to extend the wireless.

again and again until the last candle.

This is going to take some testing as to how much range each transmitter is going to be able to cover, and how many times the wireless transmitters are going to have to repeat the dmx.

I have done wireless on my golf cart, and find the range of the wireless changes, mostly weather related, direction of travel, and if there is something in the path of the signal. If the transmitter is mounted close to the street and up high the effective range will go up.

Nutcracker: RGB Effects Builder / Re: Starburst Posting

I posted some pictures of my first build, this is the ones I took to Texas in July. Took me a while to find it again.

I had to finish building the ball at the show, and turned it on for the first time there. I had no sequences done for it, so there was only 1 nutcracker effect that was on display. The matrix sequences took more time than I expected.

Steve did a great job with his build, And as always he did a great job in documenting his build.

My build is a lot harder to do, and a bit scary on the end of a 20 foot pole, but when the tree was finished it looked great.

One day I hope to get a camera to get some videos. Tom "tmcteer" posted this video.

The Porch / Re: Testing Data Line
« on: December 24, 2013, 11:00:29 am »
You didn't mention what data..

You can test for a voltage, it will not be a reliable test as there may be bad data on the line.

For DMX
About the only way I know, You will have to use a spare receiver set to an active channel. Like an Express, MR16, Ather if testing dmx data.

For pixelnet
Pixelnet and smart string can be a little harder to test. This requires some extra thought as to what you are looking for, and how to test for it. This usually involves swapping out parts.

The simplest way I know, keep things in order, and remember how things are hooked up.

I know!!  Not much help..

Lynx Zeus / Re: Stuck On White
« on: December 24, 2013, 10:32:40 am »
I have found the same problem using ssc. About the last 1/3 of 2811 flex strip will lock up with all white. Found that power injection solved the issue. Also running shorter strips, the problem went away. There was no problem with the amps, just a voltage drop issue in my case.

Don't understand why they don't reset with all nodes off, just going with it.

I am so far behind. Late taking down Halloween, had a couple things that stayed up, then weather took them out. Work had a fire and days off went up in smoke.

The Porch / Pixel repair the easy way!
« on: December 10, 2013, 08:46:34 am »
Tired of those pesky old IP66 pixels failing? :-\
Have you upgraded to the new IP68 pixels, only to find the same old problems? :(
Even try out the newest WS2811 pixels, just to find they don't like to be outdoor? >:(

Every one thinks it is water infiltration, bad power, voltage drop, wrong pixel, strain on the wires, manufacture defect.  <wd..

I too have been repairing, replacing pixels. I have tried every trick to keep them working, every spray, every dip. They work for a little while, then they just quit. >:(

Then a light flashed (no not a pixel) <fp.

EVERY ONE IS WRONG!! <md..

The real problem is how the pixels are made, well one part that must be replaced before turning the blinky on. Even bad pixels will start to work ;D.

This is a simple fix, You must soak every pixel in this solution to make the repair the defective part. A few minutes will do, but a good overnight soak is best.

That's right $18.95 for a gallon. This should fix about 2500 nodes. I have placed a second order, When word gets out this stuff will not last.

Nutcracker: RGB Effects Builder / ? Stand alone visulizer?
« on: December 07, 2013, 10:52:45 am »
I know the visualizer is work in pr ogres, but I am wondering if it could be a stand alone program?

The reason I ask, I would like to have a second remote computer be able to show what is going on in the yard. My show computer is in the workshop, and sometimes I just want to see the visitation. Right now I have a camera hooked up.

Ray sells a tester that works good for small displays. There is 1 for 2811s that is only $3.00. There is no music with these, but make for nice stand alone displays.
