I have two assembled Lynx 16ch controllers for sale, one works, the other has no power past ch5.  I tried to troubleshoot where the problem is but have been unsuccessful, and my industry(airline) and the economy being what it is, I have no time to dig into them any deeper so my loss is your gain.  The Lynx each have 16 dongles already installed.  Included is an assembled Lynx DMX dongle, plus a spare, bare, Lynx DMX dongle board, just add components and an enclosure for a second DMX interface.  All for $175(obo), shipping included (most likely flat-rate in the US).  Do a little troubleshooting and you'll have 32 channels cheap!

Was the RS485 available locally or internet/mail-order?  Just wondering if I can pick it up at Frys Electronics or similar spot to get them in hand quick...  Same goes for some 4467's/847's I think are bad..

It seems that Access Denied/Com port unavailable is a common problem I was suffering also and apparently quite a few others are too.. It doesn't seem a driver problem as we are removing/reinstalling the drivers repeatedly..  But getting the same result..
I don't have a splitter to put inline.. My PICs are at Todds getting burned with new Hex dump but I have a new set of 2.0 usb cables to try..

Lynx (Old Hardware) / Re: Lynx Manual

Ok, a question, I hope one the everyone's got.. My first Lynx is finished(yeaaayyy!)  I'm trying to wire my plug for the Pro dongle..  I took a Cat5 cable, plugged on end into the board, cut off the other end to wire into the dongle..  I found pin 2, 3 on the dongle's XLR plug, but which are pins 1, 2 on the Cat5 end?  Is it the first pins on the Ethernet plug, or does Cat start in the center and work out? I cant remember.. I'm stuck at this point..   Does the Cat5 cable go to the DMX IN or DMX OUT?   The Pro manual say the OUT connects to lightin fixtures, dimmmers.. IN connects to a DMX512 Lighting Controller.

Also.. in drilling the holes for the strain reliefs, the manual say 3/8" and 3/4" holes, but they are 3/4" and 1" holes (ID) for the reliefs to screw into.. just thot i had to mention that.. I couldnt find my 3/4 bit so I had to use a 5/8 and round/file it to 3/4"

Updated 4/23:  Got an answer from jwells(thanks Jim) on the Cat5(RJ45) end.. Pins 1, 2 is the Orange/White-Orange pair..  White-Orange is pin 1, solid Orange is pin 2.  Now I just have to get if it goes to DMX IN or OUT.

It's really not nessessary for others to know we gave... we'll know...   It's kinda like Oprah's BigGive, just without TV coverage :D

OH NO!!  Not the dreaded chicken band!!  I think my old call was KED-0979... or KDE..  before they started the 4-alpha prefix's..  then I got Aero 25, then BlueFlight 644, then Sparrow... dont remember the number.. callsigns for NatCap, VA and FL Wing CAP..

I agree, Public broacast stations are listener supported..Forum boards could/should be member supported  too(but not as a membership requirement as some just cant donate).  I'm in Ham Radio and we make donations all the time to keep a repeater on the air or make improvements.. I'm all for it.
