This is one way to test. These are my arches, they were completely buried.
Flex strip in pex tubing with caps on the ends. Ssc is Zip tied to the top.

DesMoines Iowa. My dad lost his mega-tree. Too much weight broke the steel pipe. Only got about 10 inches but the wind is blowing

ouch. I haven't seen that kind of snow here since '93. We have just enough to make things look pretty and only make the back sore for a little while.

My area is like a wind tunnel going through the houses. Wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't sitting here in a cold house in the dark since I've been withou power for going on 14 hours now.
