It has been claimed that this issue has been fixed and many who have ordered new nodes havebeen happy with them.

I've never sealed any of them nor had a problem with them.   If you get a ton of rain then maybe think about it?    Some gen1 nodes sat outside for over a year and they all still work, but the plastic got, discolored.

My only water problems came with using the rectangles laying flat. They would somehow get water inside and do all kinds of bad things but when they dried out the would work again. I solve that by mounting them vertically in my coro stars. I even used spray sealer and that did not stop them from going bad when wet.

No problems for me and I have never added extra sealant to any lights or electronics.  Knock on wood.

I will just add one caution if you are coating your lights with anything. Don't use Never Wet. It will degrade the light output according to the last conversation I had with the manufacturer.
