Try and change the battery before buying a new one. The battery is needed to check resistance but is not needed to check voltage. Tbone is right a battery just may fix it

finally got around to looking at the zues again, my shipment from mouser came in as well. damn they are fast for shipping. it turns out that it was the mosfet. all is working fine now. thanks gentlemen
