molex headers vert pcb
« on: February 01, 2010, 09:49:50 pm »
I see mouser is out of Headers Vert PCB hdr 2p Tin plating (Mouser#538-22-03-2021 ) but have HeadersVert PCB hdr 2p tin friction ( mouser # 538-22-23-2021 ) they both have the same ratings as far as I can tell but someone with better understanding of electronic's should look at this might be able to swap out part .

538-22-23-2021 has a retention clip to hold mating plugs.  It may get in the way of the two-pin shunt, but looks like it is easy to dyke off.

538-22-28-4022 or 538-22-28-4026 would be a better match.

What I bought is the 36 pin breakaway strip.  Using a sharp pair of thin dikes I can make the 2 or 5 pin headers as needed....  easier to store (and find)  and much cheaper in the end.    Con is that I have messed a few up in cutting them to size.

Just some food for thought.

The trick is NOT to cut them, but break them. Hold in a pair of pliers at the number you need then just snap by pulling or pushing.

I buy 40 way ones locally as they are cheaper than even Mouser :)

Greetings,,,

That's just those local Aussie strips.  Here in America our strips fight back.    ;D

Another tip for the wiki.

Now there's gonna be a run on 36 and 40 position strips.    :o
