never came across this sytem before
« on: January 26, 2012, 01:55:25 pm »
Never heard of anyone talking about this set up. I came across this company with a 40 channel controller for sale. Although i don't believe it is dmx controlled though.  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Never seen it before, and for $500 per unit, I don't plan on it either.... besides, I enjoy building my own.

Yea I saw them as well $500 for 40 channels that's pretty expensive.  Figure $175 for 2.5 LE a lot nicer controller and building is half the fun.  For got to add the case price I think they are around 10-15 each for the Blueridge ones.

I see that they claim 8A per channel with no heat sink.  I would really like to see that.  It is not DMX and actually appears to be a propriatory control language restricting you to using their software and not allowing you to add any other devices besides these controllers to the network.

Well just like why is people still buying lor equipment. There over priced equipment is no better than rjs controllers. Even lors diy kits are over priced.

I believe people buy LOR for a good reason. Their prices might seem steep to us, but that is because we build these things ourselves and RJ is not in the business of making money. That means all of RJ's hard work and time is free to us. LOR on the other hand needs to make the money back and turn a profit. LOR also has outstanding customer service. I for one do not own any LOR equipment, but I can definitely see why people would buy from them.

I agree and I have LOR equipment. 22 controllers as a matter of fact. I can tell you that they have excellent service and good quality hardware. I came here from LOR and will not look back thanks to RJ, but have nothing but good things to say about LOR!

I agree.
As far as the other controllers, I have never heard of them. They obviously aren't that popular.
