That's the one piece I'm still needing.  Got lots of pretty SSCs and Aether II's(when my mailman delivers), enough LE's, an MR16, and absolutely NOTHING to drive them with.  I'd love one!!!

Fireandice ... One way to get price estimates is to go look at previous coops ...

Here is the pricing breakdown based on the initial quotes.
Pricing is in US Dollars and includes PayPal and Coop fees.

We have a base goal of 100 kits. This goal allows the cost per unit to drop low enough to make it cost effective to run the coop. Below this number we will not make the order.

EtherDongle Kit With PCB, parts and case.
Per Kit At Qty 100 - $93.00

This is an estimate. As always higher numbers reduce pricing and ...

To test items, you can purchase a $20 cable (programmer) from David Moore at Holdiday Coro.

This has a USB connection on one end, and a RJ45 connector on the other end, with a little bit of circuitry between.  Along with a software device driver you can transmit DMX to other devices.

It uses the software to perform DMX functions, so it is not an efficient solution and you would not choose it to drive your light show, but it is something can be used for testing devices.  It will NOT do pixelnet, but MR16s, Aethers, LEs, and any other DMX device will work.

BTW, its primary purpose is to make it easier to program HolidayCoro's 3-channel controllers -- which are assigned channels over cat5.

No, I don't receive a commission, I'm just a happy customer.  A $20 cable that allows you to test your devices and joins the other tools in your toolbox makes sense to me. :)
