That is wonderful...
I will not seal the nodes that will make up my mega tree, as they too shouldn't be stressed as they will be attached to mono filament which will take the brunt of the stress away from them....

Thanks for the test

Lynx Smart String / Hooking it all up....

Ok, so I am probably blinded by something obvious....
I've reflashed my Dongle with the Pixelnet firmware...
It's plugged in and drivers specified on Wiki are installed...
Per device manager, COM6 is defined...
Light Show Pro, Configure Outputs... Selected Pixel Net Output, Zone 1, Com 6
Went through my old DMX 16ch Expresses and update the controller to the PixelNet device, and then....
Enabled Output, put show into loop in sequencer and hit play...
From the Dongle's RJ45 port, I have a cable that goes to a SSC Powered Hub, PixelNet Input...
(DMX is outputting channels 1-512 in the old show I am trying to run....)
ALL Jumpers are set to 1 (Both PixelNet jumpers and 1 DMX jumper) as I want the first 512 channels to be DMX..
Then a cable is plugged in to the DMX output into an Express Input, the Wireless Jumper is shorted, and it is set to channel "001".
Data light on Express is illuminated...
BUT... No blinky/Flashy on the Express...

Is there a way to test PixelNet data is flowing over the wire???

I have the new LEDs, and am still a little worried that I should still go ahead and seal them.  Can't be too safe... considering the investment.  has anyone actually tested the new notes for their water tightness?

Heck ya.  I didn't even realize I missed this Co-op...
I'd take 5...
AND... If someone doesn't pay up, I'd be willing to jump in and "take care of that" for them also...

That's Cool... I have cut them to the sizes I needed, and am sealing them up now...
As an aside, RJ...  What is your verdict on the "sealed" lights Ray is sending?
He assured me mine were water proof, and I could even submerge them in water...

The only way to know for sure is ask him prior to ordering... But I would assume all newly ordered strings would be the "sealed" ones....

Also, I would like to report....

Out of 3328 Nodes (26 x 128) I had only 1 that was bad (The RED element was out in it).
That works out to about a .03% failure rate.... LOL...
I burned in all of the strings for about 5 minute each.. and had a 2 1/2 year old help me stretch them out... So I am sure they were stretched well...

I received my lights about Mid August, and I believe they are the "newer" water proofed ones, as there appears to be dry silicon type goop in the ends... I would be interested in seeing some pictures for comparison...
I am still planning on sealing most of mine tomorrow... Wanted to wait for the humidity to drop back down a bit....
As an aside, I couldn't locate Plasti-dip thinner locally, so I purchased the two ingredients as per the MSDS and will be thinning it with that...
65% Toluene
35 VM&P Naphtha

Any negative thoughts on doing it this way?

PS. I ordered 26 strings, and have tested 17 of them so far with 0% failure...  Will have the rested tested and cut by end of weekend, fingers crossed...

Ok, I've searched and gave up.  I know I've read it somewhere....
Which side of the node is IN and which side is OUT...  The side with the controller chip is what I think I remember as being IN...
Is that correct?

Be aware, if it wasn't mentioned already, they "new" cases have a different mold than the ones Robert designed the boards for....
Or so I was told...
