xlights runs its own hardware system so no it will not have a problem running the hardware no matter what software you sequence with. I have not kept up lately but I'm not sure matt has it running 2.5 sequences whithout problems though. you may need to read up on that.

where are you located? maybe a close member could take a look at the board for you.

I think she is saying that it is a dmx mashine but she wants to know how much more snow juice it would use. The only one that could answer that is the op. It truely would depend on how much you would use it. I would only run it on a few songs and only when it was realy called for, like in let it snow and white christmas. the only thing I have that would be close is some fog machines and I have to play with the sequences to work it out in better places.

If you dont get any offers there I'll look at them but you would have to ship them to me as i'm in Odessa Texas.

Ok guys,

We all have made those little fowlups that have made life difficult for us in diy. During the Academy discusions it came up that one way to help improve both the site and community in a whole would be to make a troubleshooting outline or guide to be placed in the wiki and possibly as a sticky in the forum. I decided that since I am here I can start the first one(easy one) to see how it goes.

I do need input from all of you though. I have put together a small list of problems/symptoms that I found with the search option but as I have only built one and have only been a member here for relatively a short time. I need your input on problems and fixes that all of you have come across.

These are what I have found,
Problem                                                symptom                                                 fix
swapped voltage regulators                     no power                                           swap back
Push buttons backward                          leds don't advance                       turn them around
                                                       no power                   check for 3.3vdc across .1uf cap
                                                  no power                     check for vdc on #12 hour led
                                             all leds on                            pull battery and reflash firmware
                                        Minute will only start at 30         Pull battery and reflash firmware

Pleas let me know of any other problems and fixes that you can think of on the aeom please. Maybe if this goes well, we can free up some time for RJ and others to work on some new projects.

One of the things that I am amazed by, every time I do anything in the lighting community, is the broad amount of knowledge that people are willing to share. I thank RJ, Sean, Matt, And the many others that could be named here. This is much more than a group of people, It is an extended family and I am glad that I have such a big family to visit with. Your presentations were great and I think you will be surprised at how many people will use what you have shown us at the Academy. I know I will be working on some new macros soon.
