Vixen / Re: HELP
« on: April 27, 2012, 11:28:24 pm »
Start with the basics,

Make sure the attached plug in is set to “Enttec DMX USB Pro”

Under the Add-ins menu make sure the DMX is NOT checked (the lynx dongle does all the work)

Verify the com port in the dongle setup area is set to the same port as windows assigned to your dongle. The other settings there are not used.

Click the Vixen channel test function, a little white box up by the Channels number (usually right below the Programs menu)

In the pop up click the select all button. This should turn all channels to full on.

Some things to try if you have not.

Lynx Aether / Re: Start channel

You can try to set your start channel using the ETD by using your sequence software to set it.

Create a blank sequence and set the intensity value for channel #1 to what you want your start channel to be and leave everything else set to zero. (If your start channel is less than 256)

Then run the sequence in a continues loop and follow the rest of the directions for your device.

This does the something as the utility does

You can look at the alternate ways of setting the start channel for the MR16 in the WIKI for some details.

RAN VIXEN SEQUENCE:

o Laptop and ETD Ethernet jack yellow activity LEDs blink.
o Tried different ETD->LE Cat5 cable

Does the green LED activity light on the ETD also come on and flash as the sequence runs?

Be sure the “Remove for wireless” jumper on the LE is jumped as you are not wireless and need it on.

You do not need to configuar anything else in vixen for the ETD. I would try to create a test sequence of 4096 channels in vixen. Then use vixens channel tester function and click the select all channels button. Than as you move the slider up and down you should see all the activity lights flash (well shimmer it is very quick but is noticeable)
In doing it this way it does not matter what channel your LE is set to as all channels are getting the command.

Just some things I would check for.

I think what Chrisatpsu was saying was that the 2nd Coop for the expresses is still in the "Current Coops" section in the forum and it probably needs to be moved over to the "Finished Coops" section of the forum.

There are some members that have not received them yet, and not everyone has had time to check or build them.

This is not the only factor that controls what PCB’s are available in the store.

The item that got me at show time was a push button switch.
I pushed it too hard and broke it. Could not find one locally anywhere.

A question about your file Jingle-mini-2009.vir. There appears to be 5005 bytes on a single line? So this file is 1 channel?

The Jingle-mini-2009.vir. I sent you is 12 channels and 1:30:00 long. The original file does have a cr/lf between channels.

Hi Sean,

If you look at the sample vixen routine file (.vir) file I emailed you last Sunday. You will notice that it is space separated and not comma separated.

Good news,

All packages for the 2nd Express COOP of 2012 are complete. ;D
They will ALL be mailed on Monday

For the members that order 4 or more kits, I found while packaging that I could safely get your complete order in a smaller box than planned. I therefore have refunded the difference in shipping cost to your pay pal account.

Thank you all for being part of this COOP. And a special thank you for all your cooperation in getting your part done correctly and in a timely matter. The efforts on your side, makes the coop managers job much easier.

I will leave this thread unlocked. Please let me know immediately if you have any issues with your kit.

Thanks Again,
Jeffry

It sounds like you have the “Enttec Open DMX” selected in the attached plugins. If you do not currently have hardware connected, click on the attached plugins and remove everything but the adjustable preview one.

Hope that helps
