have a v1 Zeus 16 that channel 2 is dead on. it isn't the pic chip cause i can move it to a different channel and it works its only channel 2. and I am only reading like 80.6 mv on the output connectors so is it the mosfet that is dead? if the capacitor or resistor were bad i wouldn't get any voltage would I?

yes i am removing the pic chips from the board and using a icsp14 from J1sys with my pickit 2 to reflash each chip I then put back on the zues board to program start channels. I can't flash them on the zues and I do not have a ssc so pull flash with hex file from wiki reinstall on zues and try to program start channel with utility for zues (utility V2).
took board to a friend that had oscope said oscillator was pretty ragged so I will order and replace and see if that works>

was in use had one bad string think I know what it was but it is now dead. I was trying to reprogram start channel jumpered to program brought up utility set paramaters (use the version for the zues not ssc) clicked the button to transmit only got 7 strings. Pulled the chips to reprogram got that done put back in zues8 retransmitted only got 3 strings to flash white. pulled chips again reprograms put back in board clicked to transmit and now no lights flash. have tried to check program of chips they all read good no data got sent to the (they still pass verify on pickit. have 2 brand new chips put them in board after programing them still no flashing lights. the jumper is set to program the universe jumpers are both universe 1 tried terminate or not still no flashing white lights. checked voltage on oscillator it reads 1.69 on top pins bottom pins start high then drop down . don't know what else to look at but would appreciate any suggestions.

do I have to reflash the pic chips before I change channel assignments (start channel) on the zues? or can I just use the utility and reprogram start channels? have 16 and 8 need to reset the 8?

yes im stuck in dmx and no none of this clarified anything. I get that a pixelnet is 4096 but my mental block is each string is 150 channels can I just assign all 16 strings on my zues 16 to universe 1 and not worry about where string 1 ends and string 2 starts? and just take all 2400 strings and start at channel 1 universe 1 and go straight thru. and then take zue 8 strings and start at channel 4097 universe 2 and be good ( I still get stuck on the break or not for the string)

I used vix3 to program sequence. have zues 16 and zues 8 on etherdongle. I have 24 strings of 50 nodes so 150 channels per string. so 3 strings per universe (e1.31) leaveing 62 channels per universe. do I leave those 62 channels blank when I assign them to controlers, or do I let vixen span the universes. vix3 will span universes but (and here is where I get in trouble I assume) the zues boards will not span a universe, right? I am having gaps in my actual show that does not show up in preview, that is why I am asking?

its the whole string lighting up with no signal, so the first pixel bulb could be bad passing up the line.

has anyone seen the problem of a string of smart lights coming on when there is no signal being passed? have computer turned off plug in power to zues's (connected to etherdongle) and one string comes on. no power to computer but etherdongle does have power. unplug power to zues string goes out plug it back in it comes back on. its not one solid color one is light purple ish and the nest bulb is pink and it alternates up the string in the same colors.??

Old Express, used last 3 years pluged in to reset start channel did not get start message. have 5v and 3.3v leds lit up. reprogramed pic chip still no start up message. any ideas?. all my other express worked fine.

have zues 16 working properly just addressing issues. zues 8 have color problem solved had to program it to GBR to match zues 16 RGB. But sting 4 on the zues does not work at all. have changed the mosfet. did not help. the 330 ohm resistor reads 329. have 12 volts on the light connection block. it isn't the pigtails cause I can swap lights from a different position and the lights stay the same line 4 dead. have reflashed pic numerous times have swaped pics. what else can it be?

have both zues 16 and 8. have finaly gotten all the color sequence fixed but have 1 string that will not lite. have changed strings they work. have flashed and swaped pic they work. all the other strings work properly. from my reading other threads that leads me to belive that the mosfet is bad is there anyway to check that?

that's okay all my problems are solved now I can not get anylights on any channel have reflashed pics 3 times tried everything to get the utility to flash lights and nothing think I will just give it a break. Thanks for your help.
