Heading out shortly, Some Thoughts!
« on: September 20, 2010, 05:36:51 pm »
Well since we are in the home stretch to leave on our trip in four days I wanted to say thanks to all the members of DLA for another great year!

I would like to say it was without challenge for me but as for everyone I had some of "THOSE" moments.   <fp.

Why am I talking like the year is over? Well because with me being all over the planet for the next 7 weeks when I get back I have to be in full swing of setting up my show. So in a way it will feel like it for me. <wd..

As I posted in the announcement You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login I have sent what extra pcb's there are to our administrator who has willinging  <res. taken over the reins of both the forum and the pcbs for me while I am away. I know I leave the board in good hands with him, Keith and the other staff members on watch.

So what do I have to say about this year!

We ran alot of coops and put out a lot of items this year. (Bill and I both think some of you are making sanwiches out of all these PCB's) I wish we could do another coop for the expresses this year but it would be hard from the other side of our planet.

The ver2 wireless DMX has been a major hit this year and so far everyone that has pm me or posted about theirs has had good things to say.

I have to say the Aether has been a lot of work and expensive to develop and has fought me right down the line. I really did not expect the coop to be as large as it was.  :o
I can't wait for the users to get them and start using them.  <yk..   Don't stare into the light!!!!!!!!!

I have been amazed to see so much of my equipment showing up at all the mini's, web sites and on videos of users. It is fun to develop stuff but much more enjoyable when others feel it is worthy of using in their shows.

I believe the thing that has humbled me the most is the little things (some not so little) that users send me as little gifts. Sometimes hand made tools, other times stuff with lynx's on it, even a few thank you notes. It makes any effort on my part feel very small.

I want the users that sent me this stuff to know I truely treasure every one. I also really use the ones made to do stuff. I have got to the point that the handmade lead bender, and chip puller that two users made for me get used almost daily.   <wd..

If you live in any of the places we are going to and would like to meet up for lunch or something please let me know via PM where you are and I will see if we can make it happen as I would love to meet members I have never met or see others again that I have.

Here is a few of the places we will be going:
London, Paris, Florence, Rome, Sydney, all of New Zealand over 6 days, Singapore, Bankok are some I remember.

Yes, RJ, best of luck on the trip. If you hit an Internet cafe or two along the way, keep us up-to-date on your adventures.

RJ,

Have a fun trip, bring lot anecdotes; we will be following your blog closely.

My brother did a similar trip around the world with his wife and in the Middle East they wanted to trade his wife for a car and 20 camels :).

Have a great trip RJ!

Just remember to always pack at least one change of clean cloths in your carry on for international travel.

Nothing like shopping for new clothes in a foreign land.

Have fun RJ and family!

(I didn't see it on your list, but if you end up in Greece, stay away from the Ouzo!)

Thank you (and your family!) for all you do!!!

Well just got back from dropping the parents off at the airport. So they're well on their way towards Europe by now. I know they wanted to thank everyone for the well wishes and support.
