VIXEN WILL NOT WORK WITH LYNX EXPRESS.

I am going nuts. I'm riding tonight  in a parade. Every thing worked OK for a while. Till I tried to work on another sequence. Now things are going really bad.  Nothing works now. The picture test will not close. The plugin com will not work. I have changethe com.  I even down loaded a new Vixen in seems to work. I tried to down load my old sequences from the old down load and that doesn't work. All that work is gone.

Here are some of the error messages.

I know you are rushed, but I have found, if it worked before my problem is usually going to be something simple, something I over looked. (did I turn the computer on <fp.) Take a deep breath and look at it again.


These are the steps I would try

It looks like Vixen thinks the dongle is on com port 8, but windows has assigned it a different com port.

 Go into windows device manager and see what com port your dongle is actually using and set Vixen to use the same one.

Then reboot your computer so that everything that maybe using it is released.

Then when you plug the dongle in you should hear the windows beep. (make sure your USB cable is plugged in tightly on both sides)

 Then open vixen and see if it is working.

If not is it a V2 dongle and do you get the lights?

are you using a profile for your sequences?

Turn off the preview when you are using the dongle, seems to cut down on the headaches.

make sure you aren't trying to manually run a sequence if you have one scheduled to run at the same time, they butt heads.

I have had better luck as posted earlier using a comm port other than the one that windows assigns by default.  I think that Sittinguphigh might have changed his comm port based on that suggestion.

if you had 2.1 and  downloaded the 2.5 version of Vixen, I don't think that the sequences are 100% compatible

Parade is done and gone. Well I missed it. That was so disapointing all the work.
Well I can start working for next years Parade.
If I can fix this problem I can do afew christmas rides around town.

To start with I have changed the com port a few times in the device manger using properties with the USB Serial Port. It still show wrong port when bringing in the error message.

I am looking at your errors and there is ome strang stuff in there?

Are you carrying a Ledtriks on your horse?

If not the issue looks to me like you are trying to run the Ledtricks User interface ?

And what plug in is in your setup set to com5?  Cause it is not finding com5.

Wasn't that a more of a problem in Vixen 2.5?  Vixen 2.5 was less than reliable for us, so we stayed with the 2.1.x versions.

I think that you just had to remove the \ui\ledtriksui.dll

thought of one more thing.  if you were using the scheduler, did you leave the cross fade setting at 0?

It looks like some thing to do with the dongle. This all started when I pluged in the dongle and plugin the  com setting. I played them on a single play. No scheduler.  

I decided to put Vixen on my flash drive. Then down load Vixen clean this is what error message it gave me.

 I will try dissconnecting my firewall. But will that have any effect on running Vixen program?

I started a new down load of vixen without changing over the old sequences.

The old program is on a flash drive. I taken out all the com applications. Seem like a alot of errors go away.
I will try again connecting the dongle.

So far one error message from the old Vixen with new sequence? Don't understand that one.

What version of vixen are you running?

Are these sequences you downloaded from some place or made?

Are you using a profile with them or what?

When you unplug the dongle and uncheck the DMX Pro in the plugins does the sequence run without issues?

Now all the sequences work in test mode except one. Running 2.1. 

When I try to play the test sequence it will not play and two error message comes up.

Maybe I should start a new sequence and copy over this one.

And by the way can I copy over the old sequences program I made to the  top the new program?
