My clock works
« on: April 03, 2011, 03:27:27 pm »
I finished building my clock last night.  Not bad for my first time soldering and assembling.  Only two screw ups.  Switched voltage regulators and one resistor in the hole to be left open.  All fixed and is running fine.  Well almost fine.  I cannot set the minutes it keeps jumping to 30 no matter what. Oh well waited until 11:30 set it and off and running.  Not bad for a newb if I don't say so myself.  Next up 6 Express kits.....

Was not aware there was a bug doing this.

It's not really a bug. I had the same issue when I built my clock this weekend. After reflashing the Pic, everything worked 100%

I had the same problem with the minutes starting at 30 initially as well.  If I remember right, pressing set a couple of times started the minutes moving and I was able to set it.  Since I've been seeing other people talking about the same problem, I got setup to make a video of the problem.  Now though, it works just fine when I go to set it.  I didn't realize it was all good after 10 past the hour.  Good find!

Yep, just confirmed it, if I set the time to anywhere from 00 to 10 past the hour and hit select, the minutes jump to :30.  Setting the minutes to any other time works just fine.
Did I mention that was a really great find???  <res.

Try reflashing your pic and that will go away.
