I would try a stepped drill, that is what I used when I made my radio sign (plexiglas), and I didn't have any problems with cracking, just go easy on the pressure when drilling.

Is that like a vari-bit used for metal? I am gonna put one together today and post my results..

Clear is cool.  Unfortunately in my neighborhood it would probably make them more of a target for theft.

drill bits for plastic dont have that auger type piece on the tip of the bit to dig into the plastic. if you can find those kind of bits,  they should be fine.
plus, for extra safety, place masking tape over the area do be drilled, before you drill.

those are tips i got from a place that sells a lot of plastic items.

Ok, this is the finished product.. No problems drilling and the overall project was easy..   My daughter and I had quite the fun putting it together.

Your fittings are not 100% water proof they make one that is I do not have any here but when I go to work on Wednesday  I will post a pic and link of some that are. They look great by the way.

the fitting to the box is water tight. The hole in the bottom isn't. ima put some foam inserts in those..

I think the fittings are as water tight as you need as long as they are mounted vertical.  A little air movement is good so it can dry out if it gets condensation in it.

Would that be a correct assumption? The cg1500 is water tight and air tight. Does it have condensation problem?

The CG-1500 is not air and water tight.  It has openings in the bottom with a foam piece to cover the holes.  After cords are installed there are small openings that might still let moister in.

I have never had condensation problems with containers that don't let light in.  I have had condensation problems with my MR-16 lights that have clear domes however.  Does the sun have something to do with it? Heat buildup and a cold outside container?  I'm not sure. 

Only one way to find out.  Stick in the yard and see what happens.

Thats why I bought the 90 degree adapters because I didnt want them coming out of the bottom. I will be putting the foam inserts in the ends of the connectors. I think they will be fine (even though some may want the typical containers) .. Im gonna enjoy the led light strips ima put in each. I'm now looking on the net for a container for my mega tree le's so I can put upto 4 le's in it.. I will post it as soon as I find it..
