If you are talking tx/RX in receive mode, you just need a cable to go cat5 to xlr.

If you are talking ex/RX, you will need to look at the voltage applied to the 485 chip, and if it is not too high, remove the 485 chip and wire it up as indicated in the wiki for the ssr4.

yes i know the page is about LOR equipment, but the point i'm trying to make is with the picture.

look at the picture with the male, and female connectors...  note that they are mirror images, so it depends on which plug you're using with the device (male, or female) will matter as to which pin is pin1

I've used the Tx/Rx (Rx mode) with the $8 Ray DMX controller ... worked fine.

I will look at the XLR plug again to see if it wired correct but I think it was as the pin numbers where on the plug.
Also may be that the DMX address is not set right, with just using 1 controller at this time the address is set to 1.

That is 1 is on & rest off (this is the way Ray's $8 controller works)

Problem solved, I changed the CAT5 cable & re soldered the XLR plug & everything is working. So yes the Lynx wireless will work with Ray's 27 CH controller.

Here is a picture of the inside of the control box. The TX/RX receiver is attached to the back of the box in a small case connected by the CAT5 cable.

if you run into intermittent troubles down the road, you might need to terminate.

i just soldered a resistor across the connection of an xlr connector and used that

This controller will become part of my Christmas display this year so I will not terminate at this time.
